I’m lucky we aren’t there yet, I know lots of folks who aren’t. I remember the last long one and we were getting pretty bad. I can remember when I had no extra and would have been in deep trouble by now. There are more people in that situation that work for the gov than People think.
I don’t think many folks are aware of how bad it is for most Feds out there. Even for the most comfortable of us who have cushion it’s getting thin
I know everyone thinks all feds are like GS-15s in NoVa with a consultant spouse pulling down six figures, but in reality land shit is starting to Get Bad even for those of us with decent financial resources

I know this is pedantic, but Kim Davis was not "jailed for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses." She was jailed for contempt of court because she refused to follow a court order (she had stopped issuing all marriage licenses). NYT makes it sound like the Woke Police broke down her door.
