I just saw someone say something to the effect that back in FDR's day, the rich didn't own the media and that's why he was successful. Man, if folx won't pick up a book, the least they can do is not speak on subjects about which they clearly have no knowledge.

Somehow wound up with a YouTube algorithm that shows me lots of Canadian channels. I'm going with it, just in case I have to flee the US and it helps with my asylum request. Right now I'm binging videos by a guy who rebinds books and makes them fancy. He says "aboot" a lot.

Turned my final paper in. Twice. I turned it in twice. After I turned it in the first time, I started second-guessing myself. If I get less than a 93% on this paper, I lose summa cum laude literally with the very last assignment of my master's degree. Which...would not surprise me in the slightest.

I’ve seen nurses and social workers move Veterans who had been street homeless for 30 years and longer into housing. I’ve watched them turn those battered people into happy, independent, well-adjusted citizens.

I’d argue the pivot away from long-term growth and building quality products in favor of the quick buck and designed obsolescence is the problem with not just our economy, but our very society.
If a phone still works fine, it’s not “device hoarding” to keep using it. It’s common sense.

I gather the two National Guard servicemembers who were reported dead by the governor of West Virginia are, in fact, still alive and in critical condition at a DC hospital. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, and Andrew Wolfe, 24. Just kids. I hope they make a full and speedy recovery.
They didn't get to choose their deployment out of state. That's not how it works. They followed their orders and showed up. Maybe they were murdered by a madman. Maybe it was a political thing. The only certainty is that they were killed with a gun and they weren't killed for anything they had done.
