Blood on their hands;

EVERY "gender-critical" transphobe - yes including the very rich ones, the bigoted "journalists" who abuse their power, the unacademic academics and the "comedians" who make transphobic "jokes" - are respnsible for this poor cis women's death.

Transphobia *harms* cis women.
Marie McGowan, 89, has died 3 years after a brutal assault during which she was put headfirst into a rubbish bin. Her attacker, Alex Bailey, believed she was "a man dressed as a woman."

This is the world the transphobes are creating "to protect women."

RIP Marie. share.google/PFaI5YTh9tBw...

The @newsagents.bsky.social framed the ADF’s growing presence in the UK as a surprising new export from the US, when they've been infiltrating the UK for YEARS!

It's willful blindness/ hypocricy by journalists who have amplified the transphobic narratives that opened the door to these groups!
Indeed.

So we lead by example and show them how to behave...

Hopefully one day they will see, but it's a hard, hard task still ahead...
I agree. It's hard to be positive, but I do try...
Possible, but I hope the potato has now become that hot no one wants to catch it....

For now anyway....

The guidance will be challenged if it’s as transphobic as expected.

The government knows there’s a strong chance they lose domestically and a near certainty they lose at the ECHR.

The “risk of legal challenge” looks like code for “the lawyers told us this is a shitshow”.

Does anyone know what the UK situation is re: the percentage of articles about Trans+ that do not quote a single Trans+ person?

@hleehurley.com
What journalists can learn from how we covered the attack on trans rights in Trump's first 100 days.

Big takeway: based on analysis of a representative sample of articles, 70% of news stories about anti-trans executive orders didn’t quote a single trans person.

The EHRC and their transphobic handlers Sex Matters are clearly worried that MPs will demand full and public scrutiny of their anti-trans+ guidance - as an ever increasing number of MPs are demanding

The window to push it through is dwindling and they know it

Keep up the pressure folks ✊🏼
We've written to @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social to request the government to revoke the 2011 services code and make our updated version statutory. It accurately reflects the law and updated guidance is urgently needed: www.equalityhumanrights.com/media-centre...

Absolutely! The EHRC is really floundering right now, and Bridget Phillipson (so we hear) is getting increasingly annoyed at them.

What better time than now to write (using our easy-peasy tool) and pressure Phillipson to reject the EHRC’s segregationist Code 🤗📝🤗

"The EHRC’s exclusionary interim guidance has had a devastating impact on trans people’s lives"

“Now the guidance has been withdrawn, so should the exclusionary policies that organisations rashly implemented in its aftermath. If not, they could find themselves in hot water.”
EHRC withdraws interim guidance encouraging trans exclusion
After six months of confusion and delay, the EHRC has taken down interim guidance rushed out in April. But the damage has already been done.

Jenn,
Might this be of some help?
I might indicate who has been accessing your record for you to investigate further....?
Write to the NHS Trust or body holding your records (e.g., GP practice, hospital trust).

Submit a SAR in writing (email or post), clearly stating you want:

“All personal data held about me, including access logs showing when and by whom my records were accessed.” AND
My name is Leah. My pronouns are she/her.
My name is Andrew and I go by he/him
#PronounsDay

Its international pronouns day, so If you’re ever unsure or don’t know someone’s pronouns - just ask!

Its as simple as that ❤️

Still a long way to go though......

The problem being that it will never matter how much you raise for trans youth, the damage caused by validating that horrible woman's views will be more damage than you can ever repair with a few quid from a fund raiser.
