It's very interesting seeing people blame this on "gamers who are babied on MCU" or something when what is actually happening (at least imo) is that we're watching at the Datelinification of this topic has taken full bloom. We are not normal about this topic at all.
i am going completely insane watching gamers make up shit about horses and interrogating every single thing the devs have said for inconsistencies and then deciding well it probably had cp in it. this is the easy mode version of the kinds of censorship that are to come and you're failing like babies

Its telling how all of these things are something you can do with a good tabletop game with a good gm or a rp session with a friend and it would be a 100% better than anything AI could do.

there is plenty of sexual content on steam. the problem isn't that valve is denying sexual content (though, as a near-monopoly, that would also be a problem) it's that valve is denying specifically sexual content that is non-pornographic, most notably in the horror genre.
It's pretty clear everyone would rather strawman me than have an actual conversation.
The content in Horses is sexual and well within Valve's right to say it violates their sexual content policies.

The thing about "games as art" is that the logic is predicated not on any externals measures of quality, but how video games *don't* resemble the "higher" medium of film. It has never been once about actually exploring the possibilities of the art form, but envy and a desire for replication.
the HORSES stuff is obviously ridiculous and depressing, but it is also worth asking ourselves: who has benefited from the "games are art" campaign? it has certainly not been the artgame makers, whose work continues to be shunned and dismissed as "not games"
holy fuck this is ridiculous, how can we claim games are art if art is this scary to our two primary distribution channels?
