Not that I'm saying I want people to start calling me ugly or anything, but there's been more than a handful of times where someone was trying to compliment me only for it to send me into a depression spiral.

I don't take compliments well because I genuinely believe I don't deserve them.

I'm not asking anyone to call me ugly. I'm not even really asking anyone to never compliment me.

Mostly just saying outloud how it's always made me feel.

A lot of time compliments have the opposite effect and just make me feel worse. I don't blame others for that, though.

If I have to be honest, I always feel uncomfortable when someone calls me beautiful or cute. I know I'm not, so it always feels condescending or disingenuous.

Like when you call someone stupid 'Einstein'.

I don't need to be told empty platitudes.

It's why I hated the "protect the dolls" thing so much.

Doll is not a synonym for trans woman. Not all trans women are dolls. Fugly trans women like me deserve to be protected too.

I've seen a few people say they use it as a general term for all trans women, and on paper I appreciate the inclusivity, but in practice I can't recall ever seeing the term used towards trans people like me.

When the majority of people use it, they have a specific subset of trans women in mind.

I don't know about the broader history of the term but I've taken to using it as just a general term of endearment for my trans sisters, though I won't use the term to describe you or use it in your replies since I know it makes you uncomfortable.

My plea will always be for others to be nice to and include the less attractive, non-passing trans people in your activism and community.

Protect and love all trans people, not just the dolls.

Too ugly and non-passing to be one of the dolls, too sad and doughy to be butch. Just kinda feel like one of those trans people other prettier trans people would be mortified to be seen in public with.

Anybody else feel like they're too ugly to be part of a community.

Like, yeah I'm trans and queer, but I feel like most other queer people value attractiveness enough that I'm just kinda automatically excluded.

Definitely bad with other white transfems. So many are borderline transmedicalist.
