The game I made is available NOW! It's a party game based on brainwormed internet discourse, which means it's perfect for bluesky users who are disgusted with themselves for missing the terrible debates they had on twitter. Get it before I sell out!

the secret is that people actually still crave this but dragging them away from the skinnerbox that keeps them unhappy is difficult
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

part of the reason i am genuinely irritated with the gAI/AGI cult is because there is real societal benefits in using ML techniques in medical care + weather analysis, and instead people get annoyed with anything that gets lumped in with the plagiarism machine
We could save soooo many lives but people are so caught up in their reactionary moral panic nonsense

*bravely, with conviction* fireflies by owl city is a beautiful and earnest song and if you can't appreciate it at least on that level if not a musical one you need irony poisoning detox

This anime is so profoundly and persistently weird /pos and was so influential for teenage me. And the soundtrack goes SO GODDAMN HARD. Unmissable imo.
if i'm honest there's too much appreciation of thirst traps on here and not enough appreciation of the incredibly underrated soundtrack albums "Into The Another World" and "Arjuna Onna No Minato"

Cowardice from my alma matter - and tbh it’s pretty embarrassing to fold to Trump at this point; he’s wildly unpopular and politically toxic!

I was talking to an artist friend last night who is lucky enough to have a full time job illustrating for a Big Company and what he said was the work AI is replacing is work he wouldn't take anyway because, shocker, the client wouldn't appreciate art. We're about to see the pendulum swing back hard
It's going to be really funny when these AI art dopes have flooded the market with so much slop that human-made, messy, imperfect art becomes a huge hot commodity precisely for those traits and they can't understand why they are still being left out of actual art circles
The only good thing about this is in the future organic art will be highly sought after. By that I mean worth more money. lol

Some people just believe that being cynical is the same as being smart and it's not. It's closer to cowardice

it takes courage and intelligence to reckon with the idea that most people are decent and close in intelligence to yourself, and the only thing that's missing is work

Thank you. In my experience, the average person is most likely to be guilty of Trusting Too Much, which is a genuinely GOOD THING that has been expertly weaponized against us all.

I think the average person, even if they wouldn't admit it, believes in a system of adults doing the right thing.

every time I hear someone, usually on here, say 'the average person is an uncaring illiterate slob' it makes me pretty fucking angry. You're virtue signaling. You think you're clever by saying that the world is just like the movie idiocracy, and that you're one of the chosen righteous few.
