This week I had someone tell me they're not worried about SNAP being cut off because "that's illegal, so it's impossible Trump could do that, so obviously it's just media sensationalism." Another person told me they weren't worried about ICE because "they can't detain you if you're legally here."

The purpose of this rule is to ensure merchants do not gouge SNAP users by charging higher rates when using your benefits. It's supposed to be a shield protecting beneficiaries and the United States is instead using it as a sword to attack them.

The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

We've gotten so many of these pieces where a liberal engages in a good-faith effort to understand Trump voters. Every time, they discover that there's no deeper sympathetic reason they hold their views. They're just misinformed and hateful. My own efforts have found this too.

I may personally believe we won't have elections in 2026 but we have to act as if things still matter. So vote while we can!
