This is part of the reason I'm mad TV Tropes is doing its adwall thing: because for years TV Tropes on mobile has had the most inconsiderate ad placement known to man
I truly believe that if there were no pop-up ads, auto-sound, auto-play videos — just regular ads like in a newspaper, more people would not use ad blockers. The reason they use them is because it makes reading an article impossible.
