The calls from America this weekend to "abolish the EU" are for one simple reason: the EU is the only thing that can keep European nation-states from becoming Russian or American vassals.
The US has declared rhetorical war on the EU
The calls from America this weekend to destroy the EU are revealing. They hate the union because it's the only thing that can keep European countries from being Russian or American vassals.

It's worth pointing out Elon's grandfather, the one who created the nazi technocracy movement in America, HIS mother was the first Chiropractor in Canada.

"Haven't we all had a crush on a terrible person?" Yes we have but that's not what this scandal is about!
Being so deeply in love that you come undone does not relieve you of your professional responsibilities. That might have been even more important in Olivia's position, which was high profile and had a remarkably huge influence on the voting public.
oh my fucking god she writes like Olivia. Are these people all in the same book club or something

It's wild how people are just openly say, "hey stop being mean, she's my friend."

Do that shit in private if you want but it's embarrassing to write a LinkedIn endorsement disguised as a literary essay.

a *lynching*? huh.
Possibly the only thing more freakish than Nuzzi's prose is the contortions her defenders twist themselves into. "She's not just hot, but she definitely is hot, while also being a vulnerable smol child. Also, criticizing her is sexist."

Funniest thing about the ai mess by far is when cultists pretend writing prompts for it is work. It's not just that it's funny on its face & that the end result of that "work" is always awful, it's that they all genuinely believe typing "grok make the zootopia rabbit my goth girlfriend" is work.

UPDATE: Another Chicago-area church has put up an immigration-themed Nativity scene.

A church member at Urban Village Church sent this one along, where Mary, Joseph and Jesus are gone and replaced with a sign that reads: “Due to ICE activity in our community, the Holy Family is in hiding.”

Lisa Taddeo, who helped Olivia Nuzzi write her book, would like you to know that when you criticize her fellow white woman for her blatantly unethical "journalism," you are sexistly lynching a sexy baby. This is a normal thing to say, and a normal thing for an editor to pay a writer for.
Possibly the only thing more freakish than Nuzzi's prose is the contortions her defenders twist themselves into. "She's not just hot, but she definitely is hot, while also being a vulnerable smol child. Also, criticizing her is sexist."

one thing I think we shouldn't lose sight of: these people are stupid, their ideas are bad, they are always wrong about everything. there is no mea culpa big enough to erase the fact that they have a child's understanding of the world and their vision for the future is not worth taking seriously
Since tariffs, I noticed a surprising trend: elite Trump supporters saying they might have made a mistake. So I asked them what they were thinking, both in November and today.

One big takeaway: they thought Elon was actually competent. That error proved catastrophic.

Some elite Trump supporters are having regrets. We asked them why.
After the tariffs, they’re worried they made a MAGA mistake.

It’s very funny to me that countries are trying to pass laws banning teens from social media until they’re older and can “handle it” as if the last decade hasn’t been about watching rich middle aged men nuke their brains on Twitter and then run the USA via shitpost.
Dude. Yes. Alito and Thomas are of course the standout examples, but all of the Republican justices have tells in their writing and their questioning indicating that they are, to varying degrees, marinating their brains in dumb bitch juice
My theory, fwiw, is that Supreme Court Justices are not immune to Twitter brain poisoning. I suspect all six have horrific information environments and have therefore lost the ability to understand the people who don't agree with them.

Folks might not know a lot of people are getting *very* upset that the materials they request are not available in the libraries/archives they're requesting from.

We're getting lots here at the Library of Virginia: requests of documents likely surfaced by large language models that *do not exist*.

And because the extra year of Windows 10 support Microsoft made available still requires jumping through hoops lots of people are running Windows 10 unsupported.

Which means Microsoft has left who knows how many machines open to becoming malware bots or worse. Why?

For a hype bubble going nowhere.

when a poor person uses food stamps for a steak or homeless person spends $5 on a beer, it’s seen as proof that all poor people are so bad with money that they shouldn’t be given any, ever, for any reason. $77 billion out the window, and zuck’s legacy as a safe government contract bet is secure.
Mark Zuckerberg’s gamble on the "Metaverse" has lost his company more than $77 billion.
