The range increments of a full subway sandwich are only 10/20 so you have disadvantage on your throw more than a few paces away. You can double the range with a half-sandwich wrapped tightly and druis have a fifth-level subclass feature that removes disadvantage if the sandwich has sprouts

It's not in this article but the government asserts that the sandwich was thrown at "point blank range", which implies subway sandwiches have defined effective weapon ranges of varying lethality, and I would like to see the government's chart of these ranges.

People living in buildings believing they will stay up is why so many horrifically unsafe buildings do not fall down. Literally the belief is critical. The inertia helps, but the belief matters more. This is why vacant buildings decay SO fucking fast!

Incidentally this is why it's so devastating when a convention fucks up dealer table placement / layout, doesn't advertise or promote the existence or whereabouts of the attending indie creators, etc.

We're on shoestring budgets, and failing to break even can ruin us.

Very, very few comic book creators can survive on just the money they make from comics. It is an inherently unstable job and it is only getting worse as time goes on. Don't ever be embarrassed or ashamed of needing another job so that you can keep making comics.

Not being able to make a living just from your art doesn't make you a failure as an artist, it just means you're a totally normal working artist.

An addendum to yesterday's thread: I specified food stamps as opposed to SNAP yesterday because when I was a kid, all the "fraud" bogeymen were people selling their stamps. They were physical things that could be sold or stolen, and couldn't be traced.
