I do frankly love the seething contempt crypto guys hold for their own customers, because it means on some level they know they're despicable people selling a despicable product to despicable morons
Trump's crypto company promoted a coin called ‘Shit Piss Skin Can’ this week.

The name comes from one of the company's founders, who said you could sell “shit in a can, wrapped in piss, covered in human skin” for a billion dollars.

This Thanksgiving, the NJ Senate is killing a gov’t watchdog that stops wasteful spending, giving politically powerful individuals broad powers to intimidate law enforcement fighting corruption & even letting them tap phones. Outrageous.

I’ll be testifying against it on Mon.

Chris Marte's extremely predictable heel turn immediately after WFP beclowned itself by backing him is...actually exactly what WFP deserves in CD-1 at least
Per recent reports, it appears that Julia Menin has attained the support needed to become Speaker of the NYC Council, with 35 Council People publicly supporting her — granting her 36 votes (including herself) to become Speaker of the Council.

bill's here and it's goddamn wild. it guts the Comptroller, shifts its responsibilities to the machine-controlled State Commission of Investigation, and gives SCI the power to obstruct federal investigations and interfere with state and county prosecutors' handling of public corruption cases

yeah I hate generative AI and will go through every effort to not use it, but I already know I’m gonna spend the rest of my life as a weird Luddite. I’m not happy about this, but being delusional is worse.
it's normatively bad in many ways and also clearly useful for millions of people. it can run on a laptop, thinking that it's going away is cope. gotta engage with the world at it is.
this is a bluesky bubble opinion. 800M+ people use chatgpt every week. I hate Facebook and Instagram and I wish they didn’t exist, but 3B and 2B people use them every month, respectively. it’s very hard to picture a mass or even a niche left backlash against them

Reminder that Chris Murphy backed a bill that would have forced asylum-seekers to return to their country of origin unless they met murky conditions of fearing persecution. The man who introduced the “Turn Away The SS Saint Louis” bill wants to lecture you on how Trump’s hurting the wrong people.
This is the scandal. Trump isn’t targeting dangerous people. He’s targeting peaceful immigrants. Almost exclusively.

I think it's shameful that during a second Trump administration, and after NYC voters rejected a return to moderate, conciliatory governance, that a Democrat would tout the entirety of the Council's Republican caucus as her supporters.
Menin says she'll work with Mamdani "on a shared agenda that makes New York more affordable."

GOP members backing Menin, tho, are likely to look to her to be a check on Mamdani. Vickie Paladino said she's with Menin because she "understands all perspectives." www.nydailynews.com/2025/11/26/j...

its pretty clear that the reason they are so weird about stuff is they definitely lost a lot of money on crypto schemes in the SBF era.
might just rival SBF for the biggest bag fumble of all time. I guess the thing about crypto is the way to make money is skimming from the true believer morons, but the people who end up running crypto "companies" are the same true believer morons

personally, @chrismurphyct.bsky.social is never getting my vote in a primary because of his anti-immigration bill. I would vote for pretty much anyone to stop him, including insincere ghouls like Pete and capitulating flops like Whitmer.
it would be nice if @chrismurphyct.bsky.social did a lot reflection on his own rhetoric about the border and migrants and whether that’s contributed to a political and social culture permissive of this depravity

there is no comprehensive list of dangerous criminal undocumented migrants. nor are there many of them in the country at all. “mass deportations” are by definition gonna be almost exclusively peaceful immigrants and sweep up LPRs, people on visas, these are the easy people to locate!

RFK Jr. is neither a joke nor a well-intentioned proponent of public health with a few kooky beliefs. He's a menace, evil even by the standards of Trump's inner circle, and the failure of the political press to convey this is maddening
I actually think it’s okay to take a ridiculous scandal seriously when it involves a wingnut conspiracy theorist in charge of things like vaccine policy and pandemic preparedness
