Same. As someone from Florida originally, I kept trying to get though to people that he wasn’t an electoral genius, Florida was just sprinting to the right, and he was actually quite annoying. Would have paid off very well for me lmao

For those tempted to say Young Republicans have always been this way, they really have not. When I worked on campus and did bipartisan college events after, they were very much not like this.

That’s why groups like YCT and eventually TPUSA formed — because Young Republicans weren’t radical enough.

I think it’s because they have convinced themselves that it if their cornucopia of leftwing policies were to be implemented, conservatives would cease to exist, as they are just a function of capitalism etc.

This is, of course, the inverse of what rightwingers believe about liberals.

…downtown after I got off work, I just decided, “Hey I’m gonna go down there tonight.” Just eight months ago, I wouldn’t have believed I’d be so comfortable doing that on a whim. I say all this to say: protesting is a muscle and it’s very good to get people in shape.

I’m ashamed to admit I had never really been to a protest before this year. I am a generally scared and conflict averse person. Then I started going to the Tesla ones and then the Women’s March and then No Kings… and then a few weeks ago when I saw Brad Lander post about an anti-ICE protest…
