The 46.5% for Miyares was after the informed ballot

It was 46% w/o providing any information

Basically a bunch of voters went from Joens to undecided

But few flipped to Miyares in this poll

Also keep in mind poll had more Republicans than Dems in the sample

Perhaps not the most important point, but it wouldn't "beg the question," it would "raise the question."

Quick question: If the Republicans are right, and someone is paying millions and millions of us to protest, and has done it hundreds of other times, and they STILL can't figure out who's funding us, aren't they way too stupid to hold office?

Sean Duffy: "The No Kings protest, Maria, really frustrating. This is part of antifa, paid protesters. It begs the question who's funding it."

Historically, most of the “reformers” have gone on to become the “Bosses” in NJ Politics.

& Sharpe James didn’t control Newark via line-related Shenanigans, though he did use the line to get to the state Senate (while he was mayor).

This clip from Street Fight — the documentary on the 2002 Newark Mayoral election — feels incredibly important to note as a context for NJ politics.

In any other city in the US this would be a dumb campaign strategy. But considering that it’s Jersey City, courting the dead vote isn’t actually a bad strategy.

Between the two, DuPlessis and Thomas split the remainder of the black vote; preventing either from forming a sufficient electoral block to powerfully oppose Moreno — likewise aiding Moreno in her win.
sageoftime.bsky.social
This institutional advantage fundamentally allowed her to win, consolidating the white vote while getting a decent chunk of the Black vote on her path to victory.
sageoftime.bsky.social
Her win in the race was due to her fundraising advantage and institutional support — attaining support from Black Pastors, Rep. Troy Carter, former Rep/Biden aide Cedric Richmond, former mayor Mitch Landrieu, and even republicans such as Megadonor Boysie Bollinger

The 2025 New Orleans Mayoral election, a contest mainly between NOLA council Vice President Helena Moreno, State Senator Royce DuPlessis and NOLA councilperson Oliver Thomas resulted in a commanding victory for Moreno, avoiding a runoff and becoming the first Latina Mayor of NOLA

Early/Absentee vote just dropped in the New Orleans Mayoral Race:

Helena Moreno (D)- 55.4%
Royce Duplessis (D)- 23.9%
Oliver Thomas (D)- 17.8%

Only hope for Duplessis/Thomas is that the e-day vote is less Moreno-friendly, because she wins outright if she stays above 50%.

Throwback: in 1979-1980 the NYGOP was incredibly divided, eventually costing moderate Senator Jacob Javitz renomination to Right wing Al D’Amato — the succeeding split however did not cost the GOP the seat as D’Amato succeeded Javitz in the general in spite (and because) Javitz split the liberal

A reminder that Russell Vought previously said he wanted Gov workers “to be traumatically affected. When they wake up in the morning, we want them to not want to go to work because they are increasingly viewed as the villains…We want to put them in trauma.”
