I think I’m going to think about the delivery of this last line for the rest of my life.

It means Tollhouse - I wasn’t sure how to describe the pronounciation of LL so I had to google it -

LL: A unique sound made by placing your tongue in the 'l' position and blowing air around the sides, instead of using your voice.

Genuinely I mocked up maybe 30 versions myself, none quite right and then I went to the bathroom came back and our gebius editor had made that!

I need to know what Bob Hoskins said to Princess Diana in front of Roger Rabbit at the London premiere of WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT (1988).
Bob Hoskins meets Princess Diana as a full size Roger Rabbit costumed character stands next to them.

If there is one thing Disney is doing right it’s that they are keeping the WHAT ABOUT BOB? (1991) hand puppets preserved in their archives.

Actually it’s like they did leave it there. So far Season 9 feels like a spin-off.

Right, overall, season 8 was ass, but astonishingly the finale was very solid - and as with so many times before THAT’S WHERE THE SHOULD HAVE LEFT IT. It would have been a slightly ambiguous ending, leaving loads of loose threads (of course) but really quite lovely.

But noooooooo.

Finally getting to the end of Season 8. Mulder’s back which is a help, but what a slog it’s been. And after this he’s pretty much gone for good. (Until the film which I hear is shite and the reboot which I hear is meh.)

Two and a half hour drive to start the day and I’m starting just as the last ever WTF dropped.

For various reasons it’s been quite an important part of my life over the years - it’ll be strange to see Marc go

I’m now at the back end of X Files’ series 7, and to be honest the entertianment value has nosedived. Feels like it’s winding down now (despite there being 50 eps left of the original run)

It should have ended with syndicate storyline and certainly when Duchovny started milling around the exit.

Glutton for punishment. As little entertainment as I’m harvesting from this venture, I think I’ll feel a sense of accomplishment when I’ve done it. Or I’ll feel nothing. Either way I’m planning on finally getting to Twin Peaks as soon as I’m done.

Compared to Dylan and Springsteen, country-music legend Johnny Cash can seem deeply uncool. It took time for me to appreciate his profound, plainspoken strength, writes Jon Fasman.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.
