shaking them and waking them and giving them más. homosexual menace, infallible genius, tristate nationalist, lawyer (sorry), New Jerseyan (you're welcome), opinions mine and mine alone.
I'm actually not so sure because of how consistently Utah has been moving left under Trump. huge and increasing numbers of Mormons really hate this shit and Utah also seems to be attracting Dem-leaning outdoorsy types as transplants to its various resort towns

not sure. but the way you know this judge is not a hack is she didn't approve a map that would've given Dems a chance at two seats even though that's arguably justified on partisan proportionality grounds at this point with Utah's veering left over the past decade

Dems picked off council seats in a few bizarre places in Hunterdon by outrunning Mikie. I think we've currently got West Amwell, Bloomsbury, and Lebanon Borough

like most of New Jersey there is a non-negligible Muslim population and here it's mostly South Asian and Black
November 11, 2025 at 1:28 PM
internally diverse, probably more South Asian than East Asian

Plainfield has also grown a lot in recent years through both immigration and development and if anything can activate a bunch of new residents who haven't voted yet it's probably a competitive federal race

I noticed Mikie and local Democrats winning Manville, a WWC town that went R more than a decade ago. I'm curious whether Mikie won Winfield too. and of course the Latino landslides across the state

progressive, no. but better than Gill
November 11, 2025 at 1:10 PM
Plainfield machine has won the last two mayorals by single-digit margins, idk how much juice they've got left
November 11, 2025 at 1:08 PM
Plainfield is a gentrifying (but already middle-class) Black and Latino train station suburb of about 55,000 awkwardly glued on to the northern end of the district where the machine is relatively weak and it'll punch above its weight because it's consistently about 90% Dem

district also includes a lot of Rutgers commuters (the eastern edge runs right up against New Brunswick and Piscataway) as well as a couple of smaller state universities, so yeah, if someone on the outside is willing to try it I could see it working

long, long list. Asw. Verlina Reynolds-Jackson stands out as one of the stronger ones at a glance, I think? newjerseyglobe.com/congress/her...
Here’s who’s on the early shortlist to succeed Watson Coleman in Congress - New Jersey Globe
The retirement of Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Ewing) in New Jersey’s 12th congressional district next year means a competitive primary – with no county

Brendan Gill implies the existence of Brendan Lung

I think that's how the machines will think about it but I'm not sure that's how voters will with the line gone

I keep returning to this passage and laughing against my will. you fucking clowns
November 11, 2025 at 12:38 PM
only even like Bonnie. I don't love Mikie but Bonnie is fantastic
November 11, 2025 at 12:36 PM
yup, better

neck deep in Trenton crookedness and close with leadership as much as he pretends he isn't

I know very little about the Zwicker alternatives but the Gill alternatives are pretty much all superior
