It’s getting a little busy over here so it’s time for a pinned thread-of-threads:

and when it's not that, it's "there has to be a way to make them radically different, but does not require a radical approach to accomplish this"

I think there’s also a fuzzy middle ground between both those arms which is very relevant: a perception that this is ‘realpolitik’, that they are being the ‘adults in the room’ and showing how serious & suited for government/responsibility they are. It encompasses parts of both but is also smug af.

Yes, we all spend way too much on our housing and way too little on our food & clothes. I feel that the fact that increased food & clothing monies might benefit food & ag workers, while increased housing costs benefit landowners & banks, might have something to do with it.

Should have added, if you are in the UK you should put your pumpkin in or on your food waste caddy for collection. It can also go your in garden waste if you have that. Take the tea-light out first!!!

If you are in the US, pumpkins are a great wildlife snack! If you are in the UK pumpkins are actively dangerous to much of the wild animals who will eat it! (It has laxitive effects in small creatures like hedgehogs, and so is dangerous to them while they're trying to build hibernation reserves)

I beg of everyone and every organisation this Halloween: if you're doing a PSA about what to do with your pumpkin afterwards, INCLUDE THE COUNTRY IN YOUR INFO(GRAPHIC)

I think this is actually helpfully worded. The first half of that sentence says: “In a significant legal development, the tribunal accepted that if a perpetrator perceived her as a woman during the harassment, she could be recognised as a female victim -“
This is key and in line with EAT decisions.

Per Reddit: Steam adult developer in the UK is sitting on a USD equivalent of six figures, can’t find a bank to take his money because the developer creates adult games

I develop adult video games on Steam. I can't find a bank that will actually let me withdraw my money from Steam. Can I get some advice?
Game has sold quite well on Steam. I've got almost £90,000 ready to withdraw after Steam's cut + VAT taken off.

However, it's been 2 months now and I can't find ANY bank in the UK who will let me withdraw my money from Steam. I've been banned/refused/unable to get a business account with:

Wise
Revolut
Monzo
Monese
Chase
Starling
Nationwide
Halifax
Barclays
Lloyds
RBS

It always comes down to, "Where did you get this money from?"

"It's coming from games I sell on Steam."

"Can we see the store page?"

"Sure."

"I'm sorry, we can't do business with you at this time."

It keeps coming down to a commercial decision purely because I make adult content.

What the hell am I supposed to do? I've pretty much exhausted the whole banking system. I just want to be able to be paid for products I've sold.

Now is the time to take action with our new MP tool. Even if you've already written – it's so important now to keep the pressure up.

Our tool lets you customise and send the letter all in one place. Feel free to add something about the Commissioner's letter!

The Commissioner makes it clear that any new guidance has to explain how to include trans+ people.

Not doing this leaves the UK at risk of breaching its international human rights commitments.

It's a strong, detailed, and thorough letter – but it makes clear that the UK is on a path to widespread trans exclusion, in potential violation of trans people's human rights.
A scan of the letter with a quote next to it.

Such a zero-sum approach risks certain inferences being drawn from the UK Supreme Court judgment that could lead to widespread exclusion of trans people from many public spaces.

This, in turn, may severely infringe on their ability to participate fully and equally in society."

The EHRC code must be scrapped.

Our Head of Policy, Jess O'Thomson, says that in light of this significant intervention, the Code of Practice cannot be laid as drafted. The Minister must reject it.

Exclusion of trans people from services for their lived gender must be the exception, not the rule.
"This significant intervention from the Commissioner makes clear that the EHRC's new Code of Practice cannot be laid as drafted. The minister must reject it and insist the EHRC try again - making clear how to include trans people, not just exclude.

boost your user satisfaction and growth with this one weird trick (removing the shit everyone hates that you added for no reason)
r/SaaS
u/soasme
I deleted ALL AI features... and user growth went UP.

Everyone's busy adding Al to everything.
I did the same for indie10k.com but it didn't work.
I removed all of fancy Al stuff - Al coach, Al growth ideas, Al "personalized" advice - everything.
Guess what?
I see more registered users and higher retention.
That actually make me wonder why now i have one page with one button, without all that Al thingy, but it does better?
Here's my question:
Is Al feature actually helping SaaS grow?
