the british establishment is very closely-knit so a shift in opinion in journalism heralds a shift in opinion in the judiciary, in politics etc.
Like it was obvious when the Supreme Court randomly decided to rewrite the Equality Act, but I think there's a large amount if journalistic negligence that no one really treats judges as anything other than neutral conduits through which the word of law moves

It is genuinely insane to see a judge describe Graham Linehan as a “generally credible witness” in a trial where he claimed Sophia Brooks has been engaged in “trans activism” since 2013 (when she would’ve been 6 years old), then, when challenged, claimed her drivers license lied about her age.

calling trans women "male", no matter how much confused, so-called "biology' you try to back it up with, is transphobic and functions to erase the reality of our being. it is a key pillar of trans-eliminationist "gender-critical" ideology and the BBC has clearly been captured by this ideology.

The consequentialist argument "I will sacrifice justice for the greater good" only formally works if said sacrifice is actually necessary and sufficient for the greater good / lesser evil. You don't get to be triumphal about being an amoral cretin if you also lose and bring about the greater evil.
