I was thinking during Possession, if they remade this today the couple's affect would probably be much flatter at least at the start, to contrast with the heights of emotion they reach in their arguments. That might be more naturalistic but I don't know if it would be better

My gf and I were kind of put off of that by the trailer, and its obnoxious use of the old song in the slow, ominous trailer arrangement, but might be worth a watch to see if those parallels are there for me too

I've now seen Possession (Żuławski, 1981) twice and am no closer to understanding it, or my own feelings on it. So all I'll say is, it's very odd that they consistently refer to their young son as Bob rather than Bobby

I used to wonder if it would have worked better if he'd stuck with Kurt Russell for Piper's role after The Thing and Big Trouble I'm Little China. He'd probably have been less convincing as a downtrodden everyman than the wrestler, though

Whether it's anxiety, or not having the same time to craft a response, or not vibing with the other person, sometimes I just don't come across as well in person as I do in texts. And you can't really say "I swear I wasn't using ChatGPT before, I just struggle to function socially"

I do not respect anyone who would use ChatGPT to date for them, or for any other purpose, BUT: I have been in dating situations where my chat is nowhere near as good in person as it was over text. And now I've got to worry about whether they'll think it was because I was using ChatGPT for my texts

I didn’t want it to happen again.”

All I want in life is to persuade everyone, when encountering politics & culture, to ask, "why are we talking about this?" I mean that very literally: anything you encounter on your screens reflects a choice. Someone covered that, talked about that, rather than the many other things out there. Why?
