I suspect when they actually know each other as these two seemed to that might be trickier to pull off. Reckon you'd have to just go and directly ask if she's ok, but that would have required quite a lot of running, wouldn't have seemed very casual.

It's interesting - daughter (now 16) read them all several times in primary but abandoned them entirely when Rowling did her heel turn. Son, five and a half years younger, is simply not interested and it's *notable* how the Potter-related costumes have dwindled on World Book Day.

Yeah kind of impossible to handle from outside. I mean, I say parent and child because he looked early 30s and she looked mid-late teens but that was a glimpse. They could have both been mid 20s and partners for all I actually know. Just beating myself up for being so passive I guess.

So I looked away, didn't want to seem like I was gawping. Next thing I know I can hear raised voices even over my headphones and he's kind of grabbing the hood of her hoodie and pushing her out the door. I was - I keep telling myself - too far away at this point to intervene and then they were gone.

You know when you see something out the corner of your eye and it's just like "oh, bad vibes here"? Yeah had that feeling and looked over to see what I think was a father and daughter in Sainsbury's maybe having a bit of a row? Well not great but we all have our moments.
