when macOS 26 added menu item icons, i checked the HIG immediately.
it had two pieces of advice, one of which was: "not all menu items need an icon […] don't add icons for the sake of ornamentation."
but… i mean… then when do you… how do you decide? aren't they all ornamentation? please, help us!

I waited for some downtime to play Time Flies (timeflies.buzz) and I'm glad I did. It's a quietly amazing thing—charming, clever, tender, and funny, and that's all before the final act hits you unexpectedly in the gut. A game that makes me want to make games, and my favorite in a long time.

I waited for some downtime to play Time Flies (timeflies.buzz) and I'm glad I did. It's a quietly amazing thing—charming, clever, tender, and funny, and that's all before the final act hits you unexpectedly in the gut. A game that makes me want to make games, and my favorite in a long time.
i love this sauce so much i accidentally caught a #wildredesign in my house! the new design is on the left. there are some very subtle design changes here that i'm very curious about! i'll leave it up to you to spot them.
