The last sentence here, on Maya Hawke’s Wikipedia entry, is hilarious. The daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman got into acting because of the school she went to.

The stovetop here has a QUICK BOIL button, but I prefer old-fashioned, slow-boiled water. It’s less convenient, sure, but if you give it time, it’s so much juicier. The water just falls off the bone.

The number one lesson I learn whenever I cook with my mom is that absolutely every dish should be made at the highest possible heat, covered. Mom: “It’s fine. Leave it alone. Stop checking on it.” Out comes the greatest stew, every time.

Every now and then I see screenshots of people’s email clients stretched to full screen width and oh my god, how do you read 400-character lines without passing out. The reason books and magazines are laid out how they are is because ~66 characters per line works well with how your eyes scan.

taking this moment to toot a horn on behalf of the fine folks at @panic.com now that we are nearing the end of the year

this year panic published despelote, Herdling, Time Flies, Playdate Season 2, and Blippo+

pretty cool imo
hey look I’m in @stephentotilo.bsky.social’s Game File with a review of Blippo+, one of my favorite games of the year that’s not really a game, more like channel surfing TV from another planet. It rules

When we host Thanksgiving, we usually do a different-cuisine take on the classic ingredients. For instance, dim sum, or Thai food. It’s always a hit! I enjoy the basic remix appeal of reimagining something familiar.
