I mean, the thing is, their current movie that's getting terrible reviews came out to a rousing chorus of "who is this for??" and I feel like this is even MORE that. Like, Guillermo del Toro wants to do a stop-motion version? SIGN ME UP! This... does not appeal to me, a lifelong fan of the book!

IDK re: the role, but maybe? And yeah, I'm not sure how it works for the 21st c. And honestly that aspect of ISTTVG was... pretty frame-breaking for me. Like, your show is not somehow simultaneously Buffy AND Small Wonder AND a late night syndicated horror no one watched. Those are different things!

It's POSSIBLE, except that his CURRENT movie with the Rock is apparently TERRIBLE, and it's seeming like his brother is maybe the one with the majority of the talent (HIS movie is getting a rapturous response). If the Rock weren't attached, I'd be a bit less skeptical.
