MILLER TABAK: “.. Something important did change last week ..

We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.

When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.

A local TV station in Portland reported that a LifeFlight helicopter had been shined, forcing it to divert from the hospital it was heading to and land some distance away, requiring the patient to be transported by ambulance back to the hospital. That delay cound have resulted in the patient's death

Seriously? Meal Team Six wasn't in compliance with the Army's physical standards? But I'll bet they passed their ACFT the last time they took them - at least on paper. 🤣

The Texas Military Department confirmed to @taskandpurpose.com it had replaced some of the 200 National Guard troops sent to Chicago for not being "in compliance" with validation standards. This came after photos of heavyset NG members were widely mocked. taskandpurpose.com/news/texas-n...

"I voted for Trump. I didn't expect [him to cut health care.]"
Longtime Florida insurance agent Alan Reynolds, 65, predicts many of his customers will allow their policies to lapse when the price hikes become clear. An independent who leans conservative, Reynolds, of Port St. Lucie, called Obamacare flawed but said he favors the continuation of the enhanced subsidies “and not pulling the rug out from under people.”

His family is also affected. The loss of his wife’s subsidy means she is likely to pay about $1,200 or more each month, up from about $500 in 2024, he said. “I voted for Trump,” Reynolds said. “I didn’t expect this.”

If the Dems don't manage to get these subsidies reinstated, we're going to see the mother of all FAFOs in red states.

I remember canvassing in 2018, talking to a Republican who was undecided.

I said Rs had nearly kicked millions off their health insurance and would try again if they won.

“They said they weren’t actually cutting health care” he said to me, clearly in partial disbelief but wishing it were true.

"When subsidies disappear, and a lot of these people find that their health insurance is suddenly unaffordable, you’re not going to have very many of them saying, 'It’s OK, because at least we’ve kept those illegal aliens from going to the emergency room.' They’re going to scream bloody murder."

As Greene admits the GOP is screwing the country on health care, a leading congressional scholar explains how Greene accidentally revealed the surprising weakness of Trump’s position in the shutdown standoff.

In a new video, Pope Leo says American bishops need a “stronger, more unified voice” to defend migrants against Trump's deportation raids. “The church cannot be silent," he says.

In some ways Pope Leo reminds me of Pope John XXIII (in office 1958-1963), who believed the Catholic Church needed to be

ICE is attempting to take children out of schools and daycares, knowing full well that even American kids won't have identification.

On Facebook, a mother in Chicago shared her own experience today and asked others to share, too. Pasted below, link at the end:

Yesterday started like many others. Craig made us coffee. My neighbor offered us some freshly baked scones. The girls ate their breakfast, excited for a three day weekend and their daddy's birthday.

At 8:15 AM, we learned that an elderly man had been tackled by border control in a nearby alley.

At 8:30 AM, ICE detained two landscapers near Foster and Lincoln, a few blocks away. The entire neighborhood came out to help by recording and protesting, one of whom happened to be a WGN producer. She was violently abducted.

ICE slammed into a neighbor's parked car during their rapid getaway and kept right on driving.

At 9 AM, our school principal initiated our rapid response network and hundreds of parent, staff, and communities mobilized to patrol our school in support of our at-risk families and to allow our children to safely play and learn outdoors.

From the "Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics" file:

This chart doesn't show that parents are spending less than 1 hour per day with children. It shows that 85-year-olds are spending less than 1 hour per day with children.
The image is a screenshot of a social media post by a user named Andy Slamans. The post features a graph from a book titled "The 5 Types of Wealth" by Sahil Bloom. The graph, titled "TIME SPENT WITH CHILDREN," shows a bell-shaped curve illustrating the number of hours per day spent with children over a person's lifetime. The post's text argues that America's core problem is parenting, and that the time spent with children is too low to achieve anything worthwhile.
