Coping with the fact that tomorrow is Monday by convincing local strangers to send me pictures of their pets throughout the week.

Spontaneous Carcinometamorphosis, commonly known as Mancini's disease after the famed boxer-turned-crustacean Bruno Mancini, is a disease that will slowly turn skeleton to exoskeleton, hands to claws, lungs to gills, until a human being finds itself where all the roads of evolution lead: crab.

Joshua Tree is a magical place. It’s an easy car camping destination in early spring, late fall and winter, so if you’ve never camped in a desert it can be a good first experience.

The climbing is outstanding, but so is sitting around watching the light change.
