Depressing thinking about how the people of Greenland have a large movement that doesn't want to be a colony of Denmark anymore, and that is being aggressively set back by the imperialist terrorism of Trump

Feast of the Pale Leviathan is really good. Highly recommended.
The book tries to walk a tightrope, putting together historic shipwrecks, Boschian demons in dark woods, liminal magic and flesh orbs as well as mundane life like river raft parks, breakfast bars, corporate orientations, the Jersey turnpike, family drama into one strange ride

Hope you check it out!

Riding the lightning of economic and sociopolitcal anxiety to say "I got books to read if you've got the appetite"

For example, Feast of the Pale Leviathan is a weird dark fantasy inside a kaiju titan's guts where devoured souls exist outside time, until things get culty & interdimensional

Kill Radio has 69 reviews which is kinda funny (and so cool) to me. Here’s a link! A crystal radio opens a portal to hell. It’s got Romance, bad decisions, witchy shit, and is my love letter to John Constantine and Saga of the Swamp Thing.

You might be having a hard day, but at least you're not a pathetic loser no one likes who agreed to ruin lives, murder strangers, and eat shit over and over again on frozen sidewalks, all in return for a paycheck you'll never be able to spend because you get booed out of any business you enter.

Minneapolis is headed towards something resembling a general strike, if you were wondering how the campaign to cow working people into quiescence is going
Last night, The Minneapolis Federation of Educators Local 59 signed on to the call for a Jan 23 shutdown. That brings total labor support to: the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1005, SEIU Local 26, UNITE HERE Local 17, CWA Local 7250, St. Paul Federation of Educators Local 28, and the MFE 59
Unions and community orgs are calling for a Minnesota-wide shutdown in 10 days to protest the ferocious assault by federal immigration agents. They're saying on Jan 23, no work, no school, no shopping. SEIU Local 26, UNITE HERE Local 17, & others are supporting, w/ more to join. By me, Amie Stager

People in Minneapolis don't like it when secret police come into their city to kill and brutalize them, people in rural areas think it's great. Somehow, this is a problem that Minneapolis is supposed to make amends for.
As usual, the story here isn't about "divides" or cosmopolitan elites looking down on rural populations. It is about radicalization. This woman wants violent vengeance for things that did not happen.

general winter once again comes to the aid of the left
To any ICE agents reading this who are from down south—you have never experienced anything like this cold. Our European climate equivalent is literally Stalingrad. It will hurt to breathe. You will be outside in it. So will we, but we are used to it.

Next week is what will break you.
We've lead charmed weather lives so far in January.
Temperatures are +5F to +10F across MN so far this month. 🌡️
We're about to be reminded what persistent cold and occasional snow feels like. ❄️
MSP could bottom out -10 to -20 next Tue.

You might've heard that Mpls public schools went hybrid bc so many families are in hiding. Well, a coworker just told me that today, during his kid's hybrid class, a kid's apt building was raided onscreen
