Since 2021, 11,000 workers at ~550 Starbucks stores have unionized, but there is not a single first contract. It's incredibly important not to let philanthropic trends in funding dictate which issues we care about, not least because this lets the rich set the agenda. Whether or not climate change reporting is the trendy thing to fund these days, it's existential, and there is not enough scrutiny on COP30.
