A Trump supporter started murdering his way through an assassination list of Democratic law makers FIVE MONTHS AGO. He murdered my colleague Melissa Hortman, and her husband Mark — and attempted to assassinate my dear friend John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. I was also on the hit list. WTF

Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

“This Republican alliance that conservative DFLers have been flirting with for the Minneapolis elections is short-sighted, and dangerous for the DFL” 💯
i have been frustrated both at the conservative DFL / republican alliance in support of jacob frey this year and at the media's ignoring it, especially when we are expected to come together as DFL for statewide elections next year

The depth of the shame of a country this wealthy and abundant allowing its people to go hungry is impossible to measure. The fact that a handful of people could fix this by paying their fair share of taxes while still remaining obscenely wealthy makes it even worse.

I traveled to GER from US recently. Seems EU has already been using this technology (in airports) as I experienced both in Europe and returning to US. I also observed its use for those with EU and certain other passports when entering and exiting. So it seems none of us can escape the panopticon.
Coming to an airport and port of entry (that means land border crossing too) near you soon. Imagine what it will be like for travelers between Canada and the USA. I can see tourism falling even further and further and further to the USA.

seems that RFK is clearing the path for his CDC to do tuskegee syphillis experiments as a matter of course. in other news, RFK is a genuine monster who relishes in the pain and suffering of those he feels he has control or dominion over
RFK is undoing human subjects protections so he can conduct placebo trials of vaccines. That means infecting people knowingly. I wonder who will “volunteer” for these trials? If history is any guide, a lot of incarcerated and other powerless people.
Dismantling the Institutional Review Board (IRB), that oversees all human subjects research, is bad. Really bad.

Facts. And it is so impactful and harmful.
Council funding things that the mayor chooses not to implement is a theme of the strong mayor era.
If I’m reading Kyle right, Frey admits failing to issue 100 housing vouchers *that are funded this year because he wants to kill the program next year.* (This is not Stable Schools, but for single folks.) This is unallotment Trump-style, especially since county/MPHA are in.

Black people have been asking this question for a very long time.
Do you really have any rights if they are openly saying they will just make up reasons to detain you?
Wow. Greg Bovino admits on camera that his agents can detain people if you look scared, change your demeanor, or grip a steering wheel too tight.

As his unmasked agents walk around with large guns to scare you, they may arrest you just for that — even if you're a U.S. citizen.

Both Patty Griffin and Jason Isbell come to mind as does Brittany Howard, Cyndi Lauper, and Amythyst Kiah.
I also need to know: I am fairly middle-of-the-road on Taylor Swift but someone I know called her the Greatest Living Lyricist. She is not.

Who is yours? Either the greatest or your favorite?

Def caught my eye. I grew up there. It’s a pop of 5000 give or take. That’s a wild amount of money for a church in an impoverished community to amass.
Okay I don't have time to dig into this but what on earth

Also of note. I do not see any of the mental health degrees that are also licensed listed here (i.e MSW/LICSW, MA LPC/LPCC, MA MFT/LMFT, PhD LP, PsyD, etc…)
Here is how the Department of Education is proposing to define professional degrees under negotiated rulemaking. (EdD programs, among others, won't be happy.)

This is important because professional programs have a $200k loan limit, compared to $100k for other graduate programs.

Ranked choice voting means you actually get to vote for what you want.

I’m ranking Davis 1st because I like him. I’m ranking Omar 2nd because I think he’s the most likely to win and I agree with his policies the most. I’m ranking Jazz 3rd bc not ranking all 3 is a vote for Frey! We deserve better!
it’s the first day of early voting in minneapolis. i hope you will be ranking omar fateh, dewayne davis, and jazz hampton for mayor. it’s time for new leadership
