As a kid I disliked Jesse Jackson because at a some social justice event where they served breakfast he cut the line and took the last of the sausage patties. I loudly called him out, embarrassed my parents and "ruined the event". Mr. Jackson talked to my parents and apologized. I got fussed at.

Usually when I make sweet potatoes for a breakfast hash, I dice them up & season them savory. This morning I still seasoned savory but halved & roasted them. Served alongside chorizo chicken sausage and eggs over medium.

i think jesse jackson was one of the most important american political figures of the post-war era and i think that his 1984 and 1988 campaigns for the democratic nomination still have a great deal to teach about forging a path to a more egalitarian world. RIP.

Today need to be a holiday. Once we get this country back from the white walkers I want Jesse Jackson day.
