There need to be trials and sentences for the monsters who are doing this
My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

This is kind of like fighting back when masked, un-IDed men try to grab you on the street and shove you into a van—meaning, righting a boat and trying to get back in it as you’re struggling to keep from drowning seems like a reasonable response to your boat getting flipped over

A day after posting this, the contractor called and said Dec. 4 (today) would be "meeting day," with work finally set to start on Monday, 12/8.
Texted yesterday to confirm today's meeting. No reply.
Called the office today (around noon) to see what's up. Secretary said she'd call back (hasn't).

My kitchen has been torn apart since a leak at the end of August and I'm now pretty sure the contractor/remediation company that did the tear-out (and was supposed to put it all back together) has ghosted, so...happy Thanksgiving (at a restaurant) to me

Her memoir tries to explain her conservative turn? Privileged folks get bored and start to think they're intellectuals. They're unaffected by most of the stuff the rest of us are affected by, so they become like the old man in Squid Game. It's all an intellectual exercise w/low stakes (for them).

Her memoir tries to explain her conservative turn? Privileged folks get bored and start to think they're intellectuals. They're unaffected by most of the stuff the rest of us are affected by, so they become like the old man in Squid Game. It's all an intellectual exercise w/low stakes (for them).
