When Fantasia was first released on November 13, 1940, the film was a total flop due to the extremely limited amount of screenings, and a very mixed reception from critics. 85 years later, it's now considered one of the greatest movies in cinema that highlights the magic of Disney and animation.

If Warner Bros. actually does get purchased by Amazon, then there’s a serious chance MGM will end up becoming part of WB - thus reuniting the studio with their non-United Artists pre-1986 film library bought by Turner way back when at last.

See, I’m not really astounded at people liking these movies… I’m more astounded at the level of vitriolic hate they get that leads people to harass the cast and crew online and rage about the existence of Women/POC/LGBTQ people in these films.
It astounds me the way people get so defensive of Disney Star Wars and Marvel. Like throwing a tantrum over somebody calling In N Out fries bland

It’s still remarkable that Disney produced - and released - this segment in 1940. A horror short that should rank with its Universal monster movie contemporaries… The animation is lush and experimental, and really shows off the Disney special animated effects team…
