Hi! Do me a favor and let me know who you are when you follow me, especially if you know me in person. I've been ruthless about blocking new followers that look spammy. 😅

However, I respect that not everyone wants to use their full legal names, and I don't want to block you for not using yours.

The report mentioned in part 2 of the video. Both parts can be found in Mar's posts below: www.hsgac.senate.gov/media/dems/p...

"Alarming" and "insane" feel like understatements at this point.

Emmer is from MN. Where a man murdered Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their dog. As well as wounding John Hoffman.

The man had fliers for the “No Kings” rally that day and a car full of weapons. Emmer does know better. But he’s a horrible crank. This type of language encourages violence.

Emmer: "We call it the 'Hate America' rally because you'll see the hate for America all over this thing when they show up. The rumor is that they can't end this shutdown because this small but very violent and vocal group is the only one that's happy about this."

Another good time to remind people that “tear gas” is a term of copaganda that police, the military, and its manufacturers use to obscure that it is a dangerous chemical weapon internationally banned for use even in warfare.

7/ Caught in a lie, Frey never apologized. Instead, we got his famously weasely “Language became more casual, including my own.” BTW this is the 1st election voters can hold Frey accountable for lying & Locke dying, but the incident is almost memory-holed in coverage. www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/ne...
Minneapolis Mayor Frey Admits To Being Misleading On 'No-Knock' Policy Changes
"Language became more casual, including my own, which did not reflect the necessary precision or nuance. And I own that," Mayor Jacob Frey said.

Same! But ong it was so unnerving. I was shaking when they finally ran away 😅

Haha I used my wizard voice to ward off two big, unleashed dogs that bounded at me and my small dog out of nowhere on a walk yesterday morning. It wasn't quite YOU SHALL NOT PASS, but it was enough to make a person pop out onto their front porch to see what was going on. 🧙‍♂️😅

This week in 1988: 1,000+ ACT UP demonstrators shut down the FDA headquarters, demanding (and eventually winning) action on developing HIV/AIDS treatments. ACT UP's militant and creative actions always included powerful visual artwork, and paved the way for movements in the decades to come.
A photograph from the 1988 ACT UP demonstration outside the FDA. Many people are participating in a die-in on the front steps, holding mock tombstones with messages like "RIP - killed by the FDA" and "Dead from lack of drugs." A line of police officers (some with classic 80s mustaches) wearing riot helmets stands between them and the building; one cop wearing white gloves is walking through the demonstrators. Affixed to the 2nd story windows of the building is a series of posters and a large blank banner reading Silence = Death.

We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.

When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.

I just bought a Reading Rainbow shirt off Etsy this summer! 🌈📚 PBS is missing out.

I’m not trying to give @pbs.org ideas for raising money—but I am. I would buy women’s fit T-shirts of all my favorite childhood shows. Reading rainbow, 321 contact, square one, zoobiliee zoo. I feel like two generations will run to donate even more money for shirts with Levar Burton on them…

One could argue that we should go back as far as Citizens United, because our entire polical landscape has been tainted by that decision. But for sure everything since Garland was denied a hearing/appointment is suspect.
rawrtigerlily.bsky.social
I think we honestly have to figure out how you can just go back to the moment Mitch McConnell started stealing Supreme Court seats and have a revisit of every case since. I’d argue more of their decisions were unmoored from law & jurisprudence than were legitimate rulings.

It is pretty galling that the Supreme Court spent four years telling Biden "you can't do that without Congress" then allowed Trump to seize a once-unthinkable amount of power from Congress within nine months and concentrate law-making authority almost entirely in the executive branch.

Mayor Frey is an enigma: A 2-term mayor with a message suggesting he's the zero tolerance on encampments candidate, yet he has presided over an endless string of encampment tragedies. The shootings, fires, the wackamole strategy, those are his results. The rhetoric doesn't match reality.

They don't though. They assume they have the power to lie without consequences. Whether we all believe them or not is of no consequence.

I'm sad she's not running for reelection, but if this is the kind of bullshit she's been dealing with behind the scenes, I don't blame her. (Never mind how hard the media has been on her; I hate how small this town feels sometimes.)
