Hi, nice to meet you. Watches, tech, music, books, cars, cats, and sometimes bikes. Be excellent to each other. Twin Cities, MN.
I just had a disturbing thought. Monday is MLK Day. What fresh hell will be unleashed?

What the hell do you mean it's not Friday?! This week has lasted 84 years...

After what I’ve seen in Minneapolis this past week, I don’t ever want to hear another fucking peep about Republicans “defending the Constitution” again.

I haven't shopped at Target in over a year. Stuff like this ensures I will never spend a single penny with them ever again.
🔊 MN clergy got Target CEO Brian Cornell on the phone.

Target’s motto: “Expect more. Pay less.”

More like expect the bare minimum and get… hung up on? 🤔

We’re not leaving Target HQ until we get a meeting with Brian Cornell.

Oh no. Landlords may only be able to take two overseas vacations instead of three.
Cecil Smith, MHA (landlord lobby), putting his argument against an eviction moratorium in the least palatable terms possible: "Chilling effects on capital flows to our market."

"Even this discussion is damaging our ability to attract resources for future development."

Looking at the weather forecast and immediately thinking "Those clouds look like tear gas." sure is something.

"At least the eggs are cheaper!" he exclaimed right before being tackled by a gang of government thugs.
Schumer as a major American metro is being brutally occupied by Trump goons: "The affordability crisis will be our focus throughout 2026 because that's what the American people are demanding"

I miss the good old days when wearing a tan suit was the only thing we had to worry about the President doing.

"Directly appealing to the President didn't work the last eleventybillion times it was tried but it's sure to work this time as long as you jerks just let them do what they want!"

It is the opposite of helpful. It stokes fear when there is more than enough of that going around as it is.
please stop copying and pasting any messages to spread any information if you aren’t personally verifying it’s accurate and what the source actually is, especially about saturday’s events. telling people to avoid downtown when you don’t know who is saying that isn’t helpful

Last night, the @startribune.com reported the now infamous “shovel” claim from the Dep’t of Homeland Security that is disputed by MPD and conflicts with video, 911 audio, and eyewitness accounts.

We need robust local media that will report the facts and bring truth to power.

"Don't take the bait." is something said to victims of abuse instead of helping them escape that abuse.

It's interesting they spend so much time thinking about us when we don't think about them at all.
NYTimes has truly outdone itself with this latest in its "ask white guys in diner" genre. Thank goodness we get a perspective on what's happening in Minneapolis from people in **Nisswa** who probably mean Brainerd when they say they "prefer not to go the city anymore" www.nytimes.com/2026/01/15/u...

The violence is already in the streets you muppet. The residents of the city are trying to protect themselves from it with zero help from you.
State investigators have been on the scene in North Minneapolis.

I know you’re angry. I’m angry. What Donald Trump wants is violence in the streets.

But Minnesota will remain an island of decency, of justice, of community, and of peace.

Don’t give him what he wants.
