I wouldn’t mind them fiddling so much if they didn’t then go “because of the wonderful things we’ve done, we’re making some changes to your pricing” (ie adding a 50% Slop Tax)

Great article. I was very anti-celebs after the dull US one, but it’s added a whole layer here. Like Nick’s immediate, correct call that Celia Imrie Must Be Protected At All Costs.

Normally the mob turns on anyone clever at a drop of a hat as “suspicious”, but that’s just Fry’s persona, too.

But then, the upper end is becoming a fascinating reaction to this. Electric’s almost broken the numbers game, because the millionaires’ revealed preference is for cars wot make a loud beefy noise over faster ones that just make a high pitched coil whine.

It’s such a Techbro trap. Car culture has always maintained that car wot go fast = better. Engineering of a more powerful electric motor isn’t that much more complex or expensive than a less powerful one.

So why not put the one that can do 0-100kmph in 3 seconds in there?
