Internet Old Man, sorry. Films, music, games, photography, cats. Frequently fails to quit that politics addiction.

Post Rock, Ergo Propter Rock
I mean, they can’t make either Paramount+ or HBO / HBO Max / Max / HBO Max compete with Netflix individually; I’m not sure how setting a price that values both libraries together is going to do so.

Presumably it’s because this all started with Spotify, and they made a conscious decision to generate “here’s what you listened to before the data gets too polluted by Mariah and The Pogues.”

Slavery by who, Elon? Slavery by who?

It’s just Fyre Festival but with even poorer band booking.

(You can get it from places in the UK rather than import from Sweden using that publisher link, obv.)

If he likes Lord Of The Rings, both the tabletop wargame and The One Ring RPG book are marvellous. Even if they don’t play it much, the starter set for the latter is a beautiful object:

Getting into Magic: The Gathering seems to be the in thing for the slightly geeky set at the moment; if they haven’t tried it then beginner sets are pretty reasonably priced.

It’s partly that so many current games are primarily about lootboxes, premium battle passes and limited time events, sure. It’s also that Dad’s GameCube is gathering dust in a cupboard and you can discover the joys of Super Monkey Ball for free.

Just looked it up, and the SSD I bought recently has doubled in price, too. It’s ridiculous out there.

I for one know that when I delete a bunch of stuff, it’s so I can look forward to the disk space becoming free in a month.

I prefer the term “Voice FX” myself.

If I had a pound for every time I use “contrafibularities” or “pericombobulation” the evening’s drinks would be on me.

It might be a necessary part of demonstrating a change, but if you look at the long list of formerly sensible people in charge of the department, it’s clearly something in that role that sends people mad - without drastic change to the whole place I can’t see the next person would do any better.

It’s all very reasonable in the article. It’s just that he’s going to be absolutely furious when he sees the vile stuff the Home Office keep posting to the socials. Any minute now.

More than the result, I’m delighted that we didn’t find ourselves in a position where the spectre of Team Orders required Oscar to have to do something race-wrecking.

Admittedly Tsunoda did his best to cause an accident, but thank God he couldn’t even manage that.

Congratulations on not getting the nasty metal fencing in shot; looking forward to that finally going.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with mine, but it’s an analogue flight stick for precision control of sims; it won’t do for quick digital input very well. Not that I ever thought the Quikshot II did, either.
