started playing cyberpunk 2077 and it's still got some bugs after like five years, but i kinda get it because the open world is so bewilderingly expansive and sophisticated with tons of crazy ideas crammed in there. ea sports has spent decades screwing up a flat rectangle with 22 guys and a ball

"Male Socialization" was me having to pretend to fit in or be harassed for who I was, including being called slurs. It was me feeling uncomfortable in the locker room after PE because I didn't belong.

TERFs have no idea what they're talking about when they call trans women "male socialized"
Male socialization was me changing in the stall in the locker room so I didn't have to be seen topless

It was failing talking with uncles & family about 2 stroke engines or boats and them giving up on trying

It was not knowing why I felt like a pale facsimile of a man even though I was successful
“Male Socialization” of trans femmes isn’t a real thing. Invoking it just shows you’re a bozo trying to misgender us.

Trans people were never really socialized as our AGAB. At best, we were pressured to mimic norms that gave us dysphoria.

It’s an obvious TERF / Blanchardist dog whistle. Do better.

The easiest path is often the least enjoyable. I repressed for 10 years I’ll never get back. but once I actually become comfortable as myself, life actually started to improve for once. I’m not perfect, CPTSD is lifelong, but transitioning is the best, but hardest, thing I’ve ever done.
transition has been an exercise in learning that the more scared i am of doing something the more important it usually is for me to do it

I love the fact that Jordan Peterson wrote multiple books telling people how they need to live their lives while simultaneously having his own life constantly spiraling out of control.

The only ones I've played for any significant amount of time are Stardew Valley, Civ 6, Superhot, Pokemon Go and maybe Xcom 2, depending on how I define "significant". Yeah, Stardew was my favorite. Though apparently American Truck Simulator was released in 2016 as well and that's also great.
Quote this with what you would have said your game of the year was at the end of 2016, and what you would say your favourite game of 2016 is now, if it differs

If you call it a “male immaturity epidemic,” a very different set of phenomena come into focus, as this thread shows
I'm starting to wonder how much "the male loneliness epidemic" is just straight and bisexual women identifying low-effort, mean, and incompetent men and choosing not to date, marry, and tolerate them anymore

We need a 4-day, 32-hour work week with livable wages.

There is no reason that people need to be working this much.

People need time off to rest and spend with family and friends.

Well, he was in a couple WWE direct to DVD movies, including 12 Rounds 3 which apparently exists. So yeah, that sounds about right.
Toni wins and Jon has to join TAG, Timeless Actor's Guild 😭
The match we all need!!!

And also (as someone far more astute than I framed it here earlier), how quickly they come to understand that their stockpile of 100 guns doesn't make them a one person army, it makes them the solitary guard of a big, inviting arsenal.

Still working my way though this but I can tell it's going to be something special. Comorant is so fucking good. Especially that ending. Fucking blast beats over the melody from The Phantom Below. Thore would be proud.
Moron Police are back, and it's glorious, complex, hilarious, and deeply moving.

One of the best of 2025, without question. My review of 'Pachinko', enjoy! youtu.be/We91_dr9YG4

every trans person i see post about the OU suspension knows that the suspended target is trans & a grad student, & has an innate awareness that this is about purging trans employees. every cis person i see thinks the target is a rando professor & that this is about giving conservatives good grades

This sort of institutionalised discrimination could be part of the reason we're seeing more suicides than murders reported in the US this year.

The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

Incarcerated people in the U.S. are 6x more likely to contract a foodborne illness than the general population.

Everyone deserves access to safe and nutritious food, both this holiday season and all year round.

As you’re preparing for your Thanksgiving meal, remember the skilled work it took to get that food to your grocery store.

Tell us your favorite Thanksgiving dish, and we can share some of what we know about the work behind the ingredients.

The prologue literally has the cast of the Wizard of Oz insinuating that Elphaba is trans and/or intersex. Three pages in! It's nothing like either the new movies or the 1939 Wizard of Oz movie.
I fell down a hole of "people who love wicked and picked up the book thinking it was going to be a fluffy fantasy romance story"
😂😂😂😂

I adored that book for a long time and was shocked when they made it into a family friendly musical.

It's dark and satirical and wonderful.
