ohhhh my legs are gettin cramps. but I've got one more victory lap in me
me:

this is and always has been an ezra klein hater account. all my homies hate ezra klein

quoted post by me: the point at which decided ezra klein lacked the capacity to be more than a useful idiot was when he interviewed one of these heritage freaks, who started talking about their goal of repealing no fault divorce, and klein was gentle as a lamb

Just rereading The Symposium and was reminded of the wonderful fact, which I had forgot, that even the ancient Greeks had drama in their fanfic communities about who would top and who would bottom. All men are brothers, human nature is eternal.
‘Achilles, the son of Thetis, however, they honoured and sent to the
Isles of the Blest.48 For when he found out from his mother that if he
killed Hector he too would die, but if he did not kill him he would
return home and live to old age, he nevertheless dared to make the
choice of standing up for his lover Patroclus49 and avenging him; thus
180a he also died, and died for his sake. (Aeschylus actually talks nonsense
when he asserts that it was Achilles who was the lover of Patroclus:
Achilles was not only more beautiful than Patroclus but also more

48 In Greek myth, islands in the legendary far west of the Greek world where after death specially
favoured mortals, notably some of the heroes, pass a blissful afterlife, rather than having a
phantom existence in the Underworld like everyone else.
49 Homer in the Iliad did not make Achilles and Patroclus lovers, but Aeschylus represents them
as such in Myrmidons, a lost tragedy from which a few quotations survive.

to Homer he was much younger.50)

Hey does anybody #brownuniversity affiliated know of a way I can try to reach out to @chrislhayes.bsky.social that he might actually see? I'm working on a reported piece about the latest on campus ... wondering if any fellow alumni know a way of getting in touch ...

in retrospect this whole return to nazi government thing is seeming like a bad idea

I have a correction. the announcement comments are in approved submission only mode. possibly nobody is an approved submitter. there's no indication of this unless you try commenting
scgriffith.bsky.social
"his posts are extremely long, imagine how long they were before editing" is just not a rude thing to say esp about someone with a public presence

Cory Booker clearly wasn't expecting the pushback he got from @ivehaditpodcast.bsky.social

been asking for hours and still no response from ANYONE at OAI on whether the new update will integrate with the PeneTech RealFlesh Membrane Peripheral — makes me think this whole product announcement is a lot of smoke and mirrors.

katherine dee is herself a reactionary who has written for TERF blog fairer disputations. her bio there cites her work at american conservative, unherd, and the washington examiner. interesting how the bio she chose here doesn’t reflect that bias. the work itself features no actual citations

pickme-ism is so weird because it persists even though pickmes never get any positive feedback from anyone. their people don't respect them. those they're trying to appease don't respect them. they persuade no one. there has to be a self flagellating aspect to anyone who stays long on that path

amazed to learn there are universities where it isn't required. from a mathematician's point of view of course it's the most important course but i've also heard that from enough physicists and engineers that i just thought it was the consensus
lowrhoufo.bsky.social
Pretty unforgivable that linear algebra isn't required by 100% of engineering programs and is taught poorly in most of them. So much of "AI in STEM" stuff is braindead just from that impasse
