“Oh no, someone might eat food!”

Good. That’s good.

“They might buy something they like.”

Cool.

“They might get a treat!”

Also cool.
There's something deeply disturbing about EBT/SNAP hate to me. Like just truly bone blanching shit.

“Individuals on the ground sent a message that reached us Monday morning that 1,200 were dead,” Nathaniel Raymond, the lab’s executive director, said. “By that evening, they said 10,000. By Tuesday, we couldn’t reach them anymore. We assume our ground contacts are dead.”

AOC is literally never EVER referenced by anybody, even Bernie, as working class or blue collar. Ever.
All a straight white man has to do is grow a beard and put on jeans and flannel, and voila: he has automatic Blue Collar Credibility, even if he actually grew up with a trust fund.

ONY white males get the Assumed Blue Collar nod simply by putting on an outfit, too. Doesn’t work for anyone else.
interesting that people are treating his blue collar aesthetic as equivalent to having a blue collar upbringing

Should be increasingly clear that getting LLMs into schools is a marketing coup on par with cigarette companies getting their products into rations during the world wars...
The comments to this article are also interesting

I love kids. I have two of them. They’re amazing. However, kids are the absolute least self aware, clumsiest little puffins on the planet.

Please don’t drive tonight unless you have to, and if you do drive, drive super slow and pay 100% attention at all times.

Happy Halloween! 🎃 👻 💀

Is this some kind of blue & white versus black & gold trick? She's green to me.

Why are people focused on the sandwich instead of her being green?

remember when elon musk was still in government and DOGE still active and they pretended for like a week rampent social security fraud was happening, and then it turned out they just didn’t understand that databases would include people who passed away and we never heard about this “fraud” again lol

I just don’t think we’re freaking out enough about this SNAP cut. I have spent my whole career working with people who rely on SNAP for food. People who work multiple jobs. Who have kids. What do you think happens when 1/8th of the population can’t buy food anymore? Everything is going to collapse.

you see this happen a lot in "streetwear." people who co-opt a streetwear aesthetic frozen in time while making cities more hostile to the people who gave that aesthetic meaning — less affordable housing, more crackdown on noise, more policing, etc.
