The GOP will misrepresent S.S. as a Investment with a poor ROI in an attempt sell their privatization scam.
This video is from the era of GWB's failed attempt, so the figures are dated but the program is accurately described.
Please share to combat GOP disinformation.

Cameron Chell of Draganfly appears to be back on his “we’ve totally invented a drone that can detect biomarkers from the air” bullshit, which I debunked as bullshit in Slate back in 2020.

It is deeply depressing to see this obvious PR nonsense uncritically repeated in this Axios piece.
The technology is far more powerful than your standard human-operated drone.
• These machines can track everything from ground radar to air quality - and even measure a person's heart rate, breathing, blood pressure and oxygen levels from 500 meters away, Cameron Chell, CEO of Canadian drone-maker Draganfly, told Axios.

What choice were they left with when 'LiBrULs' were so mean to them?

When does a *subsidy* become "welfare/mooching/hand-outs"?

I'm hoping this backfires on Hegseth. All these journalists have probably been sitting on things (like why the Pentagon can't pass an audit) just to 'make nice' with people they see everyday. Let the dam burst. Don't wait for a book deal.

Good in theory, but unless you get Citizens United outlawed along with corporate lobbyists and publicly fund all election campaigns you're just handing power over to what will become the permanent "staff" government as the politicians come and go (giving us the appearance of "change")

A generational crisis is brewing.

The AI boom is consuming power faster than the grid can keep up.

By 2028, U.S. data centers could use 6.7%–12% of America’s electricity enough to power 24 million homes.

We taught machines to think, but forgot how to keep the lights on

Republicans aren't the only group of inherently conservative people resistant to progress.

I can assure you that the one thing a New York City cop is not gonna do about a mayor they don’t like is just quit. They might turn their backs on him, they will absolutely crush candies with greater abandon, but absent some real concrete better offer they’re not giving up that pension voluntarily.

Auspicious start for the new CBS News, laundering unattributed cop shit-talking through the incoming editor-in-chief’s blog and failing to correct a misspelling of the story subject’s name in the web headline for three days.

The many media outlets, politicians, and commentators who rushed to declare “a great peace, glory to the king!” should ask themselves why they did that, and figure out how to not make the same mistake again.

This two-parter below is exactly why it's hard to make clothes in the United States.

Let's look at how much it costs to produce a button-up shirt in the US. 🧵
Someone on Twitter replies to me: "meh. buy american or stfu."

Two hours later, in a separate thread, the write: "$30 for a single button-up is ridiculous unless it is decent quality silk."

All politicians will tell constituents what they think they want to hear.
Republican politicians consider the media (not without good reason) part of their constituency (particularly the beltway media).
The media love messages that reinforce the "only Dems have agency & responsibility" narrative.
