I find insane that shabana mahmood is going out there and saying "white british people cannot be asked to accept too many of us outsiders, it is not in their nature, and their pushback against all of us is to be placated". What???
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood made more explicit her argument that when ethnic minorities face racism, "we have no choice but to ask: what is the cause of our division"

Her answer is the level of net migration, 2019-23 causes racism. (She on Monday said it was caused by the scale of asylum)

You're not asking trans people. You're asking all people. This affects us all. Anyone could be barred from services based on appearance. Since, surprisingly we all have a fecking appearance

The new code of practice on access to single-sex services cannot gain legal force until it gets sign-off from ministers.

Yet I’m told that capitalism is the best economic system we have..

Being a professional full-time "opinion columnist" is akin to a career as a Victorian hat maker.

It doesn't matter how stable, thoughtful, and intelligent you are at the outset; the working conditions will inevitably turn you into a dribbling, incoherent lunatic.

Interesting paper! When you ask people about the most important issue "facing the country," they often say immigration. But when you ask them about issues facing them personally, it doesn't crack the top 10.

This indicates that voters are reacting to media narratives, not their own experience.

A side point but so much of British politics is just about advert representation really. Maybe England for the English does really just mean putting more white families in ads for debt collection or gambling sites
Reform UK MP Sarah Pochin, “It drives me mad seeing adverts full of black people, full of Asian people, full of anything other than white". She goes on to say there are now more or less no white people represented on British television anymore.

i noticed that this is matched in each game’s respective bench idle animations (hear me out). the knight quickly falls asleep on the bench in hk. whereas hornet catches herself and quickly checks over her shoulder. even saving is stressful in silksong!
can't believe I'm saying this but......Hollow Knight actually, genuinely is a chill game compared to Silksong, people weren't lying

sure I'll eat my words some time around the Watcher Knights but for now this is - how you say - fun? I'm having fun? playing Hollow Knight?
[sigh]

it is possible that I have maybe, possibly decided to potentially start Hollow Knight again from the start

Refilling the pepper mill, lost about six peppercorns, which rolled off the side and under the fridge. Thought about how if I were a fourteenth century merchant that could probably have bankrupted me. Was calmed by remembering that having a fridge wouldn't have been bad going for the 14th c, though.

It is laughable to think that you can neuter the far right with minor tweaks like this.

How many Conservative or Reform supporters even know that immigrants have to pass a language test? They object to immigration on emotional grounds, not because they have dry objections to eligibility criteria.
