Fascists really hate when people laugh at them and make fun of them. They’re the most insecure, weak bunch of people walking around and the American Far Right in particular has 0 threshold for any kind of mocking. Their whole personalities are based off being mad because they are mocked.

It sounds harsh but actually the only way you're going to avoid having to wrestle with your connection to an artist when they turn out to be a shithead is just to treat creators as normal people rather than parts of your identity.

This is nothing short of censorship, intimidation, harassment, and it should be illegal, but tell me again about how much conservatives love free speech.
A major conservative group is planning to target volunteer Wikipedia editors who they claim are 'abusing their position'

They plan to use facial recognition software and a database of hacked usernames & passwords to find them

It's the same group that created Project 2025

The early dreams about the internet focused on connecting people with each other

Now tech companies are using the internet to keep us isolated and divided, talking to phantoms and absorbing lies
Meta’s army of AI-powered “users” includes this “fiercely loyal mom” who bills herself as the “realest source for life’s ups and downs.”

The account was created in Sept. 2023, and has more than 1,300 followers (although how many may be fellow bots, who knows?).

I'm super late to this Discourse, but I'd rather see yellow paint and other level-design craftiness than have to write variants of NPC barks like, "We should find a way out of here" and "Think that door's the exit?" and in desperation "Let's try that door by the ramp. It looks like an exit."
Until you've built a level and had 10 million people play it without getting lost or frustrated, you can shut the fuck up about yellow paint.

The term "AI creator" is nonsensical.

If you are a content creator you have to create. AI creates nothing. A mulch of existing stolen works is not creation. It's repulsive.

"A request made through ChatGPT, an AI-based virtual assistant, consumes 10 times the electricity of a Google Search"

This isn't a game. This is accelerated destruction via huge usage of power, water, resources etc. Stop using it - especially for messing about!!

AI has an environmental problem. Here’s what the world can do about that.
The sprawling data centres that house AI servers churn out toxic electronic waste and are voracious consumers of electricity, which in most places is still produced from fossil fuels.

Don’t be one of the liberals on here saying things like “Vaccines don’t cause autism, but we must stop this epidemic—let’s look at processed foods and pesticides!”

Way to perpetuate stigma and pseudoscience, my dudes.

If you think autism needs to be “cured” you are part of the problem, full stop

BuzzFeed going all-in on AI. So gross.

Expect more websites to do this. Why pay real people when content farms can just hook up an AI to push out trash and take up all the space in search engines when you're looking for legitimate stuff.
