Oooh. You can get Spice Bags in the UK.
Except they are at Frankie & Benny's. 😬

I'll throw another growth on the fire whilst I dine on all the growth.

It is going to run on this weird 12 hour cycle. I suspect it will quite quickly get amended to the twice a day behaviour being the same all day long. bsky.app/profile/drad...

Confirmed on www.networkrail.co.uk/stories/a-ne... that this is, mercifully, true (they meet at the top on the minute, so outer ring is seconds) - but this has also unearthed this bizarre bit of detail... wtf?

I think the clock looks great. But the double arrow animation sounds like a committee designed it.

And every twelve hours it operates as you might expect it to.

Wild #AI in gov’t story ahead:

A citizen received a letter from the revenue office about paying property tax on a plot of land in Bavaria.

The problem was that she didn’t own a property in Bavaria, and neither did anyone in her family.

She refused. The revenue office insisted.

The logo could just move to show seconds. Pretty bizarre they decided against that, or perhaps the clockwise portion of the logo will.

BBC mass survey now published - the most important issue for respondents is that it should be independent of government and unbiased, yet less than half of all respondents by both age group and region are convinced that it is. We need the BBC to regain its independence!

Oh.

"It's a subtle yet powerful metaphor for the ebb and flow of journeys across the country, and the millions of connections made on the railways every day."

"The motif is dynamically integrated into the clock face, its two halves travelling in opposing directions and converging precisely every 30 seconds."

Why not convey actual seconds?

Looks good. Shame the animated logo serves no purpose. That's not great design. bsky.app/profile/theb...

Keep getting updates from UPS about a delivery, but I don't know who it is from. The source company is listed as "ParcelCompare" which appears to be a broker for delivery companies. Not expecting anything. Feels scammy even if genuine.

I'm sorry, but over a decade to deliver a station is piteous.

It is for HGVs basically. Although apparently it will unlock housing too.

I really hope the 2026 local elections scares the shit out of this government because we are fast approaching the point of no return to put things right ahead of the next GE.

This is a grim read. I stick to my view that the wilful blindness of the government to the financial crisis in local government will cost them their majority at the next election. Why not roll the dice for change when the local public realm is falling apart? www.theguardian.com/society/2025...
