it’s not anyone’s job to breed for the country or birth for the future, and the discourse about it always talks about this in abstracts that don’t factor diapers or headaches or college or school uniforms, it’s just this bloodless or blood and soil binary that drives me away from the conversation
this is a thoughtful thread, and i think the only thing i can add to it is that these discussions — if you are someone who has chosen not to have children — always seem to have a hint of blame to them, in the same way (tho even more) than they sound to people with 1-2 kids
the birthrate discussion I think always circles around a core reality that nobody really wants to talk about, which is that - when living in a stable society that does not rely on your family needing more children for support - most people don’t want many kids and no incentives will change that

Much ink has been spilled to the effect of "trans girl spinny skirt cringe" but I don't think people realize how demandingly rigid the rituals of forced masculinity are. I was screamed at for wearing the "wrong colored" shoes. Let trans women be girls, most were not allowed to be.
One of the great things about being a trans woman is giving yourself permission to finally like cute things that weren't "socially acceptable" to enjoy before.
