Even the grittiest blue collar city has a spark of magic under the surface. In Baltimore, you might find that magic around any street corner or darkened alley - if you know how to look.

I think about you often when I'm having a rough day, actually "Sheryl's out there lawyering for people who need help; you can get through this!"
So thank you for that. You give people strength you haven't even met 💜

Lots of people with Crohn's work. Their disease is more controlled, or they have a milder case [for now maybe], or they have to work for various reasons, or they can't get disability [it's REALLY tough]
I'm one of the lucky ones, which is kind of hilarious. I was approved because my case is BAD
yay
christianek.bsky.social
As someone with Crohn's on disability, I just love [I don't] how easy these jokers think it is to attain, like you don't have to be at the worst place ever to even be taken seriously as qualifying. Also there are different levels of the disease and ability to treat it.
Sheryl's a badass lawyer.

Everyone: I AM BOYCOTTING KINDLE

Me: cool, will you buy my books somewhere else at least?

*me looking at my sales report* Ah, I guess not.

Feeling super good after reading through reviews for each of my books in order to add some to my website!
I don't look at them too often but when I do I never fail to get a little lift.
Not all authors like to see their reviews, good or not, but as I do all my own promos I focus on the 4 & 5 ⭐s

A few people have asked if there will be a second #ChoicesAnthology

I'd LOVE to do one. There's MUCH more to explore

But it only happensif this one sells like hotcakes

So buy it, tell your friends about it, request it at your libraries & indie bookstores

Let's make a second one happen together
diannalgunn.bsky.social
#ChoicesAnthology is the collective scream of people of marginalized genders facing the control and theft of our reproductive rights, filled with stories of terror, tragedy, resistance, and revenge

Grab your copy today books2read.com/u/3JYo9Q
Red paint background with the cover for Choices: An Anthology of Reproductive Horror on the left. The cover lists the editor, Dianna Gunn, the author of the foreward, Alex Woodroe, and the names of the authors: R Haven, Ondine Mayor, Enoli Lee, Ash Vale, Justine White, Kelli Etheridge, Ava Victoria Black, Allay Rei, Soyam Siddha, Sam Rosewilde, A.H. Davison, Meg Calendaria, KT Wagner, Anne Wilkins, Bogi Takacs, Amanda Cecelia Lang, Elise Scott, Mia Dalia, Raluca Balasa.

The right side says: “As the horrors close in around us, we turn to story to process our fears, our desires, and our futures. In Choices: An Anthology of Reproductive Horror, nineteen writers whose reproductive rights are under threat explore the stories of those who, like them, have had their choices stolen from them.
These stories serve as a reminder of the power of choice and the importance of fighting for every human’s right to choose their own future.”

word of mouth saved my book, fr, it is the best friend of midlist authors who don't get much of a marketing budget

Word of mouth is important to a book's success. So, if you'd like to see the authors who wrote your favourite stories commissioned to write more, please keep talking about all the #books you love.

My hot take is that none of these are structure. These are all recipes that describe structure.

Structure is the Salt, Fat, Acid Heat of writing.

3-Act/Hero's Journey etc are recipes.

You can make great meals without using a recipe if you understand the principles of structure.
ddwardiswriting.bsky.social
So #WritingCommunity how do we feel about structure?

Do you use the 3 act structure? The 5 act?

Hero's Journey? Save the Cat? Super Structure Method? Story Genius Method?

Something else?

What have you got?

This has been *everything* I've seen these past several years.

The multiple white writers that I've *finally* said are causing harm have literally put hands in my face and even hands *on* me to prevent ONE WORD of conversation about this.

It should be inexcusable and it's not.

I think what I struggle with is , I think they do see others humanity.

They just don’t want any world that makes them examine theirs
kendrawrites.com
I just don't now how you get folks to see each other's humanity

Thirding the scam suspicion. I've had stuff like that happen with my fiber art biz. It really sucks :/

20 minutes is usually how long mine last, but I've had multiple ones both yesterday and today, which is unusual

I cannot stress this strongly enough: Support your local theatre, café, bookstore, bakery, and library. We breathe life into these places when we support them. They need us, and more importantly, we need them.
