Wow. I was so immersed into this story that it took me several minutes afterward to acclimate that I was here on today's Earth and had actually just read a book. OldBear is a brilliant writer, able to express vast depths of humanity - I will insta-read anything else @weyodi.bsky.social writes.

I really think we need to talk about protecting racism even more than doing racist things.

"But --- isn't racist" is the wp response to everything.

I didn't say that, I said they were protecting racism.

And when the refusal to listen is this violent, it's no longer unintentional.

This has been *everything* I've seen these past several years.

The multiple white writers that I've *finally* said are causing harm have literally put hands in my face and even hands *on* me to prevent ONE WORD of conversation about this.

It should be inexcusable and it's not.

I also gotta tell you - you don't have to be Sherlock here to decide who is being truthful.

I don't bring up ppl who've been less public or are more at risk but, people think I fooled Cat Rambo, Joyce Chng, *and* Zukiswa Wanner? They do not.

The pretending they don't know is at violent levels now.

People are *so mad* that I said white men who they know are nice were pushing targeted harassment and disinformation planted by racists.

They've had energy to protect them, back them up, join in the shadowban.

You know what none of those people had energy for?

Finding out if what I said is true.

(And that's even if none of them care about what this has done to my mental health, which apparently is the case.)

Recalibrate what you find "aggressive" - talking about whiteness or *refusing* to.

So now we have generally well-intended progressive wp who will put the hands in the face of any wp who HAS done the work, read the material, listened, sees paths through.

That is not innocent. When they won't LISTEN it's aggressive.

Which is wp are all relying to get a specific notification from a BIPOC friend letting them know they have done a racist thing.

BIPOC are not safe right now - for a hell of a lot of reasons - to approach wp they know aren't going to do shit about it anyway.

So I want to clarify one more time - the layer of isolation.

Most genuinely progressive wp have got the message that they can do racist things without meaning to, and that reacting with discomfort to that when told is fragility.

It's the next step that's in every way. From what I see!

We have a straightforward way through all of this.

It relies on wp talking about whiteness. Straight-up.

And we will NOT do it.

They use layers to remove themselves. They aren't the racists doing the racism. They're against it.

But every experienced voice in the world seems to be telling them they are coddling it, protecting it.

And they will NOT have that conversation.
