I need to sell 28 more of these before Christmas if I want to break even on the design. We're over half way there so fingers-crossed that new people keep wanting them!
I really wasn't exaggerating when I said my Christmas tree pride pins were detailed. Each of these baubles is just over 2mm! canopyrobin.etsy.com/listing/4405...

Here are some ways to support relief efforts for Western Alaska, where Indigenous people are dramatically disproportionately impacted by total devastation of what remained of Typhoon Halong.

Asking folks to look out for Alaska Natives this holiday who are still dealing with the devastation of miles & miles of their homes, villages, traditions, foods, & ways of life & their displacement & instability continues.

These guys are great! I donate every year and may I suggest that some of the crafts they sell on behalf of the elders make great Christmas presents?
Time once again to rep my favorite place for giving: anelder.org - they supply food, firewood and supplies for traditional crafting to Navajo Elders. If you have the cash, please give these folks a hand.

Given my jaw is still too swollen to really want to go all-out on a holiday focused on food (not to mention the mixed feelings I have about said holiday), i'm hanging out at home and making something a little more manageable. Time for a cooking thread!

She's forgiven me for not stopping the earthquake that woke her up this morning 😆

Anything that fell over in the quake is just getting packed at this point, too close to moving to be bothered resetting anything.

#sciart friends (and art friends more broadly)- what's the process like for getting prints made of paintings? A local store is interested in some of my art but I've never actually had prints made, so I'm a little intimidated.

I know life happens but if you say you're going to be at my house at 5:30 for a thing that requires me to let the dogs out, you better actually be here at 5:30, especially if it's too cold to actually leave the dogs out for prolonged periods?

Nothing makes you feel old like people earnestly explaining to your country ass that wild turkeys can fly in response to a seasonal WKRP reference.

This is possibly my favorite product answer yet:

Q: Will this deodorizing spray get rid of dead animal smell?
A: Yes, but you need to remove the dead animal or you will need to keep applying it.

I have...very strong feelings about how my employer's systems require access to my personal device (and that said device be of a certain type, i.e. smartphone instead of flip) in order to log in
If I didn't have a smartphone, I'd have to quit my job, because work no longer provides physical one-time-code generators, depending instead on Authenticator apps.

Trust me, I've tried!
yes, I feel like you can safely ignore anyone who tells you with a straight face in 2025 that you can just do without a smartphone
