If there's any justice in the world, Pritzker will get sent to the Hague alongside Biden, Schumer, Jeffries, Newsom, Fetterman, and every other quisling fascism apologist in the supposed opposition party.

J.B. Pritzker is a cowardly piece of shit and people really need to stop stanning him.

He's not arresting ICE agents. He's speculating that in the distant future someone else might hypothetically prosecute an ICE agent. Amazing work, sir.

There is literally no socially useful application for these new AI video generators. They only exist to facilitate scams and make even more money for fascists whose brains have already been turned to mush by being wealthier than god.

I appreciate all of the Columbus hate today, but I do want to save a little hate for Washington Irving, whose biography of Columbus was instrumental in propagating the legend of him as an American hero, and spreading the false claim that everyone in Columbus's day thought that the Earth was flat.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

I get the rhetorical point the headline is trying to make, but also "Christians shooting other Christians" has been a big part of the religion ever since guns were invented. Empirically, it has never been hard to reconcile deadly violence with Christian values. www.themarysue.com/so-much-for-...

I know Jane Goodall was revered by many in the environment movement, but it is pretty clear that she also harboured many seriously problematic colonial attitudes.

The 'overpopulation' stuff in particular was pretty bad, and as a concept the conduit of plenty of serious wrongdoing over the years

The same people solemnly declaring that Trump must be allowed to arrest and torture anyone purely on the basis that he feels like it, were screeching that Biden was shredding the Constitution by trying to forgive a few student loans.

So chances are, you will from time to time be part of the group enthusiastically listening to a song that is driving your neighbors nuts.

Now excuse me while I listen to a classic 90s banger that is being unfairly slandered by Wikipedia's bad songs list: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NXn...

If everyone who heard a song agreed it was bad, then they would stop playing it. A record company could temporarily boost a bad song by paying to get it on the radio, but if that doesn't translate into people liking it enough to buy it, they'll stop wasting their promotional money.
chefstentor.bsky.social
I too like several of the "worst" songs, but that actually makes sense. To truly hate a song, it has to be not just a bad song, but a bad song you are repeatedly forced to listen to. And why would you be forced to listen to a song? Usually because a significant group of other people really like it!

To Trump, everything is a zero-sum power struggle. People are demanding he release the files, which means if he does it then they have "won" and he has "lost." Trump never wants to look like he's doing what someone else told him to do. 2/2

Counterpoint: I don't think there is anything particularly explosive about Trump in the contents of the Epstein files (I mean, what could be worse than the things we already know about him?)

He's refusing to release them because other people want him to. 1/2

I was a skeptic about the import of the Epstein files.

But 3 invasions of cities, one military buildup outside Venezuela, a government shutdown, and so many other things meant to distract have me convinced whatever’s in there is the biggest presidential scandal in U.S. history.
