When I use yank pejoratively it's not about nationality it's about how folks approach the world

If you assume Green means Jill Stein you're a yank

If you complain that non-US folks should specify what Green party people are posting about, or if you assume Polanski means Roman you're a yank

I wonder how differently this would have been framed if they were celebrating passing a motion in support of "women's liberation" that nearly a third of members opposed.
🚨 BREAKING | Your Party has voted to enshrine trans rights into the party's founding policy documents.

Two motions, which both passed with a supermajority (with 10,000+ people voting) committed the new party to explicitly supporting "trans liberation".

One point that may have been lost: I’ve never seen this ad before.

It’s only when I searched for Mexican folk music tonight that YouTube started running it.

Google’s surveillance technology has enabled the government to selectively terrorize specific groups in service of white supremacy.
Listening to Mexican folk music on Youtube and they're running this horrible ad urging people to self-deport.

Fuck you Kristi Noem, and fuck you Google for taking her money.

Saying this about someone who was a die hard Corbyn guy as well, the whole thing needs wrapped up and put in the bin. It’s giving ammunition for the smuggest people going to slate leftism as a whole, and tbh the Greens have done well to distance themselves from it

Once again when they say they'll get rid of "red tape" they mean workers' rights, safety procedures, environmental regulations, etc.

What about the other 4.1mn children you are leaving in poverty because both the minimum wage AND welfare are too miserly to live on?

If you don't fix the cost of living, more people will slide into poverty each year than you are rescuing AND the economy will continue to stagnate.

Labour chose not to lift the 2 child benefit cap more than a year ago, keeping hundreds of thousands of children in poverty
The OBR downgraded productivity by £16billion. It's not, 'made up' Zack. Have another read.

New taxes on remote gambling, dividends, a mansion tax on homes worth more than £2million.

450,000 children lifted out of poverty. £150 off energy bills next year.

Progressive choices. That's who we are.
Rachel Reeves says on Laura Kuenssberg that she's asking working people to pay a little bit more.

This was all under the cover of a made up "black hole" whilst refusing to tax the super rich.

This Labour Government showing again exactly who they are and who they serve.

The fact that Your Party felt that they should vote on if they support trans people having rights, and no other group, isn’t “democracy” it’s transphobia.
Are you complaining about the fact that transphobes exisf?

The way a democratic organization exists is that motions have to be voted on. If someone wants to make trans liberation a key part of the platform, it has to be voted on and debated. That means that inevitably there will be someone opposed

Sultana and Corbyn both scored just shy of 50% in their respective constituencies at the last election.

It would be quite some thing to see them both lose their seats at the next election, but I do wonder what their constituents make of all this.
Oh God I needed this so much right now. Good old fashioned funny chaos and farce instead of constant depression in politics.
Looking forward to them setting up their own rival parties.

Turns out that in practice, "left on economics, right on culture" just means right. "Social conservatism" just means the authoritarian crushing of out groups. And social liberalism is not a dispensible frippery but the sine qua non of actual socialism.
Not sure - 14 years into project - Blue Labour ever previously set out actual proposals before, so this is new

1. Abolish Treasury
2. Leave ECHR
3. Closr/refound half of unis
4. Double army size for anti-EU alliance with Ukraine
5. PM to lead grooming inquiry with arrest powers + televised trials

This is exactly why I don’t let go of the “cancel culture memo”

This man trapped folks in rooms to make them watch him masturbate and they are trying to ask if the show is good enough to make that’s measurable trade
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?
