@sophiemolly.co.uk has been on fire recently with her journalism. She has worked very hard to uncover Wes Streeting’s unethical and deeply dangerous forced detransition of trans kids.

Please read and share.

Great illustration of the austerity ratchet in Britain - restoring the pre-Osborne welfare state treated like wild-eyed radicalism
Aside from anything else, the benefit cap was introduced in 2013. Claiming that going back to 2012, to a benefit system designed by Tories but missing some of the most egregious and punitive excesses, is a sign of a "return" to even the real 1970s let alone the media boogeyman 1970s, is bollocks.
Look. This isn't analysis of any stripe. That this absolute fucking hogwash is presented as clever, sensible moderate stuff should be considered just as much propaganda as the tabloid screaming about benefits street.

The question also needs to be *which* staff are “lost”. My prediction would be that those “lost” are disproportionately women, non-white, queer and non-UK citizens.
'David Maguire and Alex Bols, vice-chancellor and chief of staff respectively at the University of East Anglia, updated their prediction made last autumn that 10,000 jobs could be lost in 2024-25, claiming this same amount could in fact be lost every year going forward.' 1/3
UK universities ‘could cut 10,000 jobs every year’
Academics claim changes made to higher education system a decade ago have divided sector into ‘winners and losers’, with government-imposed limits on income exacerbating financial challenges

it *seems* to be fixed

I’m not calling it for certain until it’s been a couple of weeks, but a complete reinstall for like the third time tonight and, crucially, opting out of this "new dropbox windows update" thing on both PCs (and then laboriously resyncing like 80gb) has stopped the errors
yeah dropbox is fucked and my workflow is broken

The bigotry towards people who are transgender is not incidental.
It was and is a central plank of the Labour Party to gain and retain power. This is who our government is and every LGBT person should never forget this.

Am I saying "go do violence"? No, but I am pointing out that the British judiciary have implicitly made it clear civil protections do not apply to trans people and so either way violence is going to be done to you.

If your politicians and judiciary are just going to countenance violence against you as a trans person you have no reason to desist yourself, the options are either wait for violence to be done to you by individuals or the state with no consequence or using effective trans violence upend everything.

One of my favorite bits that I did when I worked at B&N was when dudes came in to buy Dark Romance novels for their girlfriends or wives I would be like "Oh yeah, this is the one with [REDACTED] in it. Neat" and simply watch their eyes widen.

Felt like this when mortgage payments went up a few years ago - yes, it's horrible to now be paying an extra £200 a month, but that's been happening to renters year on year and there were no sadface articles on that, just "market forces" and "nobody has a right to live in a city"
This house tax pretending is making me more insane than usual because as a renter I’ve had to move every 1-3 years just as standard because rents always rise. And no one cares. House owners get a tiny fraction of that precarity and suddenly it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened

All policies must pass through the filter of "does a white working class Barnsley racist I have made up approve of this?". Voters or MPs, bow before the imaginary WWCBR.
"Is this budget actually just what your MPs want (bad)" I ask in a parliamentary democracy, with a level of critical analysis only entrusted to the BBC's Political Editor
