it’s 11-related in that this is a change that MS are requiring. though at least it’s opt-outable for now. maybe when it isn’t anymore, it’ll work properly.

it certainly *seems* like it’s this new version that breaks things, and that opting out fixes it. something to do with integrating more deeply with windows.
