ICE has been verified in Rogers Park today - sharing this again.
aspwriter85.bsky.social
I'm heading to the burbs today and refreshing myself on SALUTE. ICE hasn't been spotted as much in the city but has been very present in the suburbs.

An screenshot displaying "SALUTE"
with information on if for how to spot and report ICE in Illinois

REMEMBER SALUTE

Provide as much information as possible when reporting or boosting potential threats. Spread information - not panic!!

S

Size / Strength How many agents? How many vehicles? "4 agents, 2 SUVs, no license plates"

A

Activity / Action

What are you seeing? A raid at a workplace? A traffic stop? Are they using force? "Harassing workers in my shop"

L

Location / Direction Address? Intersection? Nearby landmarks? "at Fillmore and Maple in South Oak Park"

U

Uniform / Clothing What are they wearing? Do they have masks?

Vests? Badges? What do they say on them? "Civilian clothes that say DEA on the back"

T

Time and Date What is the time and date of the sighting? "11:15AM on September 4"

E

Equipment / Weapons

What equipment/weapons? Are they using them?

"They have hancuffs and batons"

PROVIDE AS MUCH INFORMATION AS YOU CAN WHEN REPORTING OR BOOSTING POTENTIAL THREATS. BE AS SPECIFIC, CONCISE, AND PRECISE AS POSSIBLE

You have a right to document in a public space. This is particularly important if there is ICE activity or activity by law enforcement.

The best way to document is to use your phone to take video of what is occurring

The best practices for taking video safely are:

Stay and record at a safe distance

Hold your phone horizontally so you get as much of what is occurring as possible in the video.

Try to get the whole scene showing location and time

Narrate what you are seeing. You can describe where you are and what you are seeing or maybe what occurred prior to your beginning the recording.

Do not post or share the video on social media - connect with a PASO Westside Rapid Reponse. Or contact the Family Support Network at 855-435-7693.

IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE DUE TO ICE DETENTION, OR TO REPORT ANY SUSPECTED ICE SIGHTINGS, CALL 855-435-7693

I know the temptation is to just scroll past this with a “not surprised” reaction, but you should read this if you have the emotional bandwidth to encounter horrifying slurs and violent sentiments, because there’s an important takeaway: extremism is often performed to reinforce an in-group’s bond.

Tear gas seeps into people's homes, including those with asthmatic children. Helicopters whir relentlessly. Federal agents storm through back yards chasing suspects. People fear leaving their houses at all.

This is what life is like in Broadview these days.

masked federal agents used multiple canisters of tear gas + other chemical munitions on a crowd of residents in chicago's southeast side around 12:40 p.m.

neighbors had gathered on a residential intersection following a morning during which dozens of border patrol agents terrorized the community.

A federal judge said "DHS, you cannot legally put this language into a grant." So what DHS did is... keep putting that language in grants — but with a new disclaimer saying it would only apply if the court order was struck down.

The judge was NOT happy.

The case is Illinois v. FEMA

It now appears the federal agents have left the intersection, after deploying more gas into the crowd. Still working to sort more details.

Feels almost trite at this point to bring up the federal court's restraining order, which included language meant to rein in agents' use of chemical weapons.

A confrontation between community members and militarized federal agents appears to be unfolding on Chicago's southeast side, near the intersection of E. 105th St and S. Ave. N.

Details still emerging. From what I've seen federal agents have deployed at least one can of some kind of gas.

Trump announces another strike "just off the Coast of Venezuela" that killed 6 people
Under my Standing Authorities as Commander-in-Chief, this morning, the Secretary of War, ordered a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO) conducting narcotrafficking in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility — just off the Coast of Venezuela. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was trafficking narcotics, was associated with illicit narcoterrorist networks, and was transiting along a known DTO route. The strike was conducted in International Waters, and six male narcoterrorists aboard the vessel were killed in the strike. No U.S. Forces were harmed. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!!!!

This version is confirmed, by Hoffman Estates police, puncturing the official DHS statement.

At this point, there is a statement from DHS re 🧊 activities in the Chicago area that’s refuted in similar fashion on nearly a daily basis at a minimum over the past week

Despite what some, including at DHS, are claiming, this video isn’t from a year ago in Chicago. It was Friday in Hoffman Estates, in my district, a street I’ve walked myself. It appears to show a child being violently detained by ICE. It’s real, and I’m demanding accountability.

Thrilled to see the storied People's Law Office representing Debbie Brockman, WGN TV producer attacked by DHS agents in Chicago.

Walking to the bus stop to go to work, Brockman was attacked by masked Border Patrol. She "feared for her life multiple times throughout this terrifying experience."

NEW: The People’s Law Office is representing Debbie Brockman, the WGN producer who was detained by feds.

“Ms. Brockman and her legal team adamantly deny any allegation that she assaulted anyone. Rather, Ms. Brockman was the one who was violently assaulted by federal agents on her way to work.”
Statement on Behalf of Debbie Brockman, WGN
Employee Assaulted by Federal Agents

Debbie Brockman, the WGN employee who was physically attacked and arrested in Chicago, Illinois by federal agents on October 10, 2025, would like to provide the following information to clarify any misunderstandings or misrepresentations that have been previously reported.

First off, Ms. Brockman wishes to clarify that at the time of this incident she was not acting in any professional capacity as an employee of WGN. During the morning hours this past Friday, Ms. Brockman was walking to the bus stop as part of her morning commute when she was attacked by Border Patrol agents.
Ms. Brockman, who is a U.S. citizen born in this country, was violently detained on Foster Avenue, on the north side of Chicago. As this occurred, individuals on the street began recording the incident and asked Ms. Brockman her name. In addition to providing her name, Ms. Brockman stated that she worked for WGN. She added this information because she hoped someone would notify her employer so her coworkers would know that she would not be arriving at work that day.
Ms. Brockman was detained and held in federal custody for approximately 7 hours before being released. She has not been charged with any crimes and she intends to pursue all legal avenues available to her to vindicate her rights and hold the federal authorities accountable for their actions.
Ms. Brockman is being represented by attorneys from the People’s Law Office in Chicago. Ms. Brockman and her legal team adamantly deny any allegation that she assaulted anyone. Rather, Ms. Brockman was the one who was violently assaulted by federal agents on her way to work. Ms. Brockman feared for her life multiple times throughout this terrifying experience.
“This incident should be alarming and horrifying to every single person in this country,” said Brad Thomson, one of Ms. Brockman’s attorneys at People’s Law Office. “If armed, masked, federal agents are sn…
